I think it was a zone on that side, and they had a zone beater play dialed up? Maybe you could argue Colson carried the slot too far and didn't cover the inside part of his zone, but I think its just an RPS+3 by OSU.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:56 PM ^
Yeah they just threw scissors to our paper. Asking any LB to cover Marvin Harrison on a crossing route is like asking an 11W forum member to not jerk it to a family photo album.
November 25th, 2023 at 3:53 PM ^
Defense did enough to win. Fuck the details.
November 25th, 2023 at 3:54 PM ^
Outside the final play, Q had the Sanristril hit of the day. That was big.

Struggled at times but also responded to the moment when it mattered most.
tempo killed us when they were able to lock in a specific d line.
November 25th, 2023 at 3:58 PM ^
Rod Moore is never taking off those glasses.
November 25th, 2023 at 3:59 PM ^
So proud of them.
November 25th, 2023 at 3:59 PM ^
Johnson’s hit on OSU’s third-to-last drive will go down as the stuff of legends.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:00 PM ^
Last year, thought Michigan was going to lose after 1st half. This year, thought we were losing when OSU went right down the field in the 3rd quarter to tie.
Very happy to be wrong both times.
November 25th, 2023 at 5:12 PM ^
That was a tough moment as they did to us what we have been doing to everyone the last few years. They adjusted and got it done. Three in a row!
November 25th, 2023 at 4:02 PM ^
I figured the DL would dominate, and the secondary was suspect. But two huge interceptions told the story of the game—aided by a decent pass rush on the last one, of course. Nice to see Rod Moore, who wasn’t good enough for OSU, end the game.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:20 PM ^
Sorry but the int was routine. Harrell, who gets little love by the roundtable, got a helmet on McCords elbow. HARRELL is the one who made this play.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:05 PM ^
Routine my ass! It was a GREAT interception. He had to dive and keep the ball from touching the ground. You clearly never PLAYED foosball. Is this your first time WATCHING?
November 25th, 2023 at 6:08 PM ^
Routine interceptions against OSU now.
November 26th, 2023 at 3:13 AM ^
Don't know about routine...but agree Harrell hasn't gotten near enough love from those guys during this incredible run by UM defenses.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:08 PM ^
We struggled at times but the defense managed to step up when it really counted
November 25th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
Harrison and Henderson had 178 toyal yards and 2 scores....
November 25th, 2023 at 4:11 PM ^
I meant that as a positive, which I didn't state clearly.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:13 PM ^
Michigan was never going to shut them down completely. They just needed to limit their big plays, which they did.
Just like last year, when Harrison and Egbuka both were over 100 yards receiving and a TD each, but big plays were avoided.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:11 PM ^
2nd consecutive "The Game" for the D to have 2 interceptions.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:13 PM ^
3 years removed from “hang a hundred”
3 games since: 74 points total. Maybe next year you get there..
November 25th, 2023 at 4:24 PM ^
We play Texas A and M next year?

I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU NO NOTES

What happened to will johnson? Had just landed and was watching at airport bar with no sound.
November 26th, 2023 at 1:06 AM ^
You may have already found this by now, but sounds like he had a leg injury from practice this week. They taped it up and took him out of the game for the last quarter.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:22 PM ^
Two interceptions were the difference. Credit to the pass rush on the game winner.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:00 PM ^
QB got hit and dropped his elbow for a 3/4 quarter throw that was weak. Great job on the D both at the line and the pick off of that wounded duck throw.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:29 PM ^
Couple of missed opportunities on offense re: play calling, but one thousand and mother fucking one... hell, yeah, we'll take it!
November 25th, 2023 at 4:33 PM ^
With OSU offense so loaded every play was a big play today. The Defense made more plays than OSU and kept talented OSU to 24 points. Will had a huge pic in first half, and Jalylen's hit caused Moore pic & closed the deal. Mason had a nice sack. Pretty sure the D Line was held a number of times, no calls, but they got it done. 11 & 0 without your HC on the sidelines for the biggest games of the year was heroic by all. Better team and Defense won. Hope Will is ok soon. It was clearly a big loss when he went out but they perservered and won. Go Blue !
November 25th, 2023 at 4:33 PM ^
They need to work on that thing where you keep your helmet on after a game ending turnover. Otherwise they played a helluva game against a talented squad.
November 25th, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
Who cares we WON!
November 25th, 2023 at 4:34 PM ^
Reminds me a bit of '97... bend but don't break. Today the two picks were obviously huge... I'd prefer they were able to lock down on the quick passing game a bit more, but there's no arguing with the results--one thousand and mother fucking one.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:16 PM ^
6 point win in '97, 6 point win this year.
Let's hope the season ends like '97 as well
November 25th, 2023 at 4:35 PM ^
Three years after the "hangin' a hundred" comment, 3B Day and the Buckeyes are up to 74 points. Maybe next year they can get to 100.
November 26th, 2023 at 7:13 AM ^
Hopefully not. And Ryan Day might not be around long enough to fulfill that dream.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:47 PM ^
We often had trouble getting to McCord and stopping their run, but we had no real meltdowns and made some plays when we needed them. Ultimately it was enough to win given that the offense also had a reasonably good day.
November 25th, 2023 at 4:55 PM ^
Not one single thing to criticize. Defense carried the day and sealed the victory just as much as the 7 minute drive did. Great job to everybody. Beat Iowa.
November 25th, 2023 at 5:00 PM ^
Dear Mr Rod Moore, the D, and the whole team,
Thank you for the great win today! My blood pressure has returned to an acceptable level. I'm good to go for the B1G championship game!
Go Blue Forever
November 25th, 2023 at 5:10 PM ^
First, I hope Will Johnson is OK. Seeing him on the sidelines in the third quarter made me very uneasy. MHJ is beyond for real. Tip of the proverbial cap to that dude. But the D gutted it out and sealed the victory. I am 100% certain we got OSU's best shot on offense and we absorbed it and then took the game away from that offense at the end. So proud of this Michigan football team. You done good, guys. REAL good!
November 25th, 2023 at 5:24 PM ^
'Member 2 years ago when OSU was crowing about getting the DC from the #1 defense in the NCAA when at the same time M "just" got the DC from Vanderbilt?!? How is that working out for them?

Who would you rather have:
a coach with ties to the best defensive minds in the NFL?
or
A coach with a referral to a private investigator?
easy answer!

any info on Will Johnson injury?
November 25th, 2023 at 10:02 PM ^
He sprained his ankle last Tuesday in practiced. Made it through one half. Hopefully some rest this weak will help him heal!
November 25th, 2023 at 5:58 PM ^
I felt pretty confident throughout The Game - we scored first and they couldn’t match it. We were up two scores a number of times and they just couldn’t make the stop they needed - but our D did and held them to field goals (and one beautiful practice kick!).
Then there was the was the plot twist right at the end when we couldn’t get the first down, but left them with precious little time on the clock. Couple of long pass play just padded their stats and got their fans hopefully excited. And then the dagger. Awesome!!
November 25th, 2023 at 7:04 PM ^
Not much for me to add, but MH Jr is going to be so much fun to watch in the NFL.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:09 PM ^
KYLE ACCORD WAS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE GAME.
PRESSURE DIDN'T GET THEIR ALL THE TIME, BUT GOT THERE ENOUGH TO SWING THE GAME.
