OSU CB Gareon Conley, Florida CB Quincy Wilson, and Florida OT David Sharpe all declare for NFL Draft

Submitted by Bambi on

Title says it all.

Conley is the second OSU DB to declare in the past two days after Malik Hooker. OSU is still waiting on decisions from DB Marshon Lattimore, LB Raekwon McMillan, DE Tyquan Lewis, HB Curtis Samuel, TE Marcus Baugh, and QB JT Barrett. All but Barrett are probably leans to go pro, with many OSU fans thinking Barrett will either go pro or follow Tim Beck and Tom Herman to Texas.

I'm not nearly as familiar with Florida's roster, but they do have projected high picks in Teez Tabor and Caleb Brantley who are good bets to go pro. Florida will have to replace a good bit on defense next year, will return most of their anemic offense and still need a new DC to replace Geoff Collins. They've also been pretty underwhelming on the recruiting rail under McElwain, with the 21st ranked class nationally his first year, the 12th ranked class last year, and they currently have the 19th ranked class with no 5 stars and 8/15 3 stars.

the main point...

Then what is the best explaination for the 31-0 blowout?

Meyer mentioned not everybody being fully committed as one factor.  You are offering arguments for various players and coaches saying that it does not apply.

So then what is the reason for the outcome?

Not trolling.  A serious question.

Multifactorial.

But the biggest issue was the OSU's o-line is merely decent, not dominant like in 2015.  That is why OSU's offense often looked discombobulated in 2016.

Against Big 12 Oklahoma's D having a just o.k. o-line is not really a huge problem.  It was a problem for most of the game against Michigan.  It was a key reason that OSU could not put the game out of reach at PSU.  It was a key reason the MSU-OSU game was close.

No Elliot, Clemson on a good night, game just got away from them, Clemson offense just matched up particularly well, were other factors.

I think that's great that you don't, and at least you were honest about it.

That being said, no matter how much it grates on some, the roster attrition / addition of our most hated rival is at least a matter of some academic importance for many of us, if nothing else.

I still don't understand how people fail to realize or appreciate that such news is at least secondarily related to Michigan and Michigan's success moving forward.

and McElwain hasn't been a homerun on the recruiting trail. They'll have an athletic D, but their secondary will be nice & green to deal with a Harbaugh O. They get Del Rio back at QB and Calloway returns, but their O was weak for 10 games this year - not seeing a ton of upside for the opener. I hope every early entrant leaves for them and UM feasts on the carcass ...

This is why I never understood why fans of other teams looked at UM and were all "hur hur you guys lose 109 seniors next year" and assumed they'd have no attrition or early departures themselves.  At least UM knew it was coming.  OSU is probably going to have to replace most of their secondary and linebacking corps, maybe their only real receiving threat, and a smattering of other players.  Just because they weren't seniors and out of eligiblity didn't mean they'd be free of drama and depth chart woes.

Florida OL Cameron Dillard is pursuing  Grad Transfer for his last year. He's originally from Canton. I wonder if the staff kicks the tires on bringing him back home.
