Olusegun Oluwatimi wins the Outland (best interior lineman) and Rimington (best center) Trophies. Michigan's first Outland winner and first center to win it since 2005.

I've said this before, but if Corum wasn't a damn Heisman worthy player, Olu is the offensive MVP.

He won't have the longevity, but he's the best center in Michigan football history (in terms if the best player). He's that good.

He's like David Molk combined with Steve Hutchinson. I've never seen anything like it.

Olu has some incredible physical gifts. He is also incredibly intelligent.

Being the center, he's one of the brightest football minds on the team, and imagine the fact that he downloaded an entirely new offense in 1 off-season.

Generally only the QB and center are required to understand the nuances, counts, pickups, audibles, and all the permutations the defense can run at you on any given play.

Olu is a phenom

Exactly.

He's smart like Vastardis...one of the smartest centers to ever play at Michigan. He wasn't the most talented, but he knew more than everyone else on the field (RIP to his... "notice defense offsides - quick snap and point").

He's mobile like Molk. An undersized center who used it to his advantage with leverage and agility to get around DTs.

He's strong like Hutchinson. He can just maul you if he wants.

That's why to me, if you're not looking at career numbers, which he obviously won't have...but if you just say "who is the best PLAYER to play Center at Michigan?"

Olu Oluwatimi is the answer. The guy has it all. And he's a great leader on top of all of that. Absolutely incredible.

Looking forward to seeing him get drafted early and then have a nice, long and successful NFL carreer.  The kid made an excelllent choice in coming back for a year and selecting Michigan.  Happy for the young man and his family!  What an awesome achievement.

Here's the explanation for him winning, as explained by the Football Writers Association of America. Not much that most of aren't already familiar with, but it's nice to hear others talk about our excellence.

And here's the text of the announcement on the Rimington, awarded by the Rimington Trophy. Nice quote from Sherone.

Love to see our maize and blue boys get the respect they deserve. Now time for Olu to show TCU why they chose him for the award and time for the Michigan Wolverines to show TCU what a road grating defensive line looks like. Go Blue!
