Official pre camp predictions.

Submitted by MichiganFan1984 on

What is your official pre camp season record prediction? Our predictions could change based on what happens in camp, but with camp starting in less than 3 days, I thought it would be fun to take a prediction now. I say 13-2. We lose in National Championship game and we lose to Wisconsin. I know this is bold, but I don’t think ND or Msu will beat us and I think we get it done against Osu someway somehow.

9-3

Win one of the 3 tough road games hope it's Ohio state and then split the 2 tough home games Wisconsin and Penn state.

Until we show e can win on the road I don't know how you predict otherwise.

We enter Columbus at 9-2 to their 10-1 and we win. We go on to avenge our regular season loss to Wisconsin and win the B1G championship. We are left out of the CFP because someone from the SEC will have 1 loss and not play in the SEC title game like last year.

We go to the Rose Bowl where we beat Washington comfortably.

These fake accounts are getting out of control. Created an account 11 minutes ago to tell yourself great post.

We all know about the oline and its importance on the direction this season goes. However I believe the difference between this season being good to special will come down to the pass catchers.  I mostly believe this because the variance in potential play from this group ceiling to floor is a gigantic gap.  The truth is the wr's have proven very little and still will only be in there second seasons, a lot of us could be jumping the gun on there progression.  They could very well be stuck on average for another season.  At the same time I don't think anyone would be surprised if Black, DPJ and Gentry are all pushing for all big 10 honors. If the pass catchers make the leap and can consistently get separation and make contested catches against good competition I think we see Shea in New York. If not the defense is going to have to grind out a long season.

As far as the oline I think the variance is much smaller. I think a lot of last season mishaps in pass pro get cleaned up along with Shea having better pocket awareness, quicker release and escapability.  The running game will dominate weaker teams and improve against the better ones ( partially due to shea) but overall I don't see this being a dominate oline in many scenarios, with the pass catchers there's a chance they could be special, or maybe there a year away from that. We'll see.

Even with the schedule I don't see more than 2 losses. If the passing game is elite the sky is the limit.

No kidding. If that was my account I would purposely have my fake support account be a total dbag. It seriously blows my mind how dumb of a comment that is for even thinking I created some bogus account. I’m speechless actually.

9-3. We have 5 really tough games. Any team that would go better than 3-2 in those games is probably a NC contender. In theory we could be, but until we win a tough road game and show we have a functional OL/offense in general, I refuse to predict that. I think 2-3 in those 5 is pretty likely, and if we go 3-2 we still have Nebraska/NW which could be an upset L.

User name check out.

Kidding aside, NW could be a trap game.  Nebraska is at home and will be their third or fourth game under Frost.  They could be on the come up, but they will not beat us at home.

Anyone who thought we were going to win more than 8 games last year was delusional. The team had so many holes to fill, that even the "soft" schedule couldn't help avoid losses to PSU, OSU, PSU, and Wisconsin.  MSU was the one bad loss last regular season.

I agree they need to shore up the offensive line, but the interior should be strong and there are four guys (five if you count Ulizio) that are vying for two tackle positions.  I think the offensive line should be serviceable at the very least.  Other than that, the following position groups should be elite: DL, LB, DB, TE, and potentially RB.  WR, QB should be above average, and could be very good if the potential is reached.  That looks like a team that should compete with everyone on the schedule. Furthermore, unlike last season, we have depth across the board.

Should be a fun season.

10-1 going into Columbus.

I honestly don't care who the loss is to, as long as we're 11-1 after we come back from Columbus.

This is the year. Michigan must be really good. The talent Harbaugh has recruited must perform. The QBs he has coached must get it. The OL must be able to block.

The team must win.

And we must win the game that matters more than every other game.

Beat Ohio.

We lose at ND. We beat Wisconsin regular season. We lose a conference game. We finally beat OSU. We get to B10 championship by head-to-head tiebreaker with 1 loss OSU. We then lose to Wisconsin. Wisconsin and OSU go to the playoffs and Michigan fans have a complete meltdown as it's confirmed there is a god and that he hates us.

I can see 9-3 with losses to ND, either PSU/Wiscy and OSU.

I could also see a year where M beats ND by 17 and is 11-1 playing for the B1G title.  Not a lot has to click for M to be very good.

10-2

Lose to Notre Dame to start the year in a frustrating low scoring game because the offense isn't clicking yet, sending the Mgoboard into a meltdown.

We struggle and win ugly the next two weeks and things get pretty bad in the media and fanbase. Then we come out and absolutely blast Nebraska, the offense starts clicking around that point and everything is looking good.

We beat PSU and Wisconsin at home but we shockingly lose at MSU due to some combination of injuries, turnovers, and some sort of insane weather conditions.

Blah blah blah Harbaugh can't beat his rivals, we go to Columbus and win with Patterson throwing for 300+ and 4 TDs in a game that will be remembered forever as a Michigan classic. Also I rewatch this game roughly 473 times waiting for next season to start.

Honestly, with this schedule idk how we can finish the season w less than 2-3 losses. Until we win on the road against a good team, I can't predict them wins right now. I hope Patterson is the real deal but we'll see..

I think we're basically at where Bo had us year in & year out.  Toss-up vs. Notre Dame & OSU.  Main difference is:  I think that MSU is now a toss-up (just for this season).

Add in 1 loss that we don't expect & a bowl loss, & we're at 10-3, or 9-4.

Hope I'm wrong.

As long as Dantonio is there, MSU will be a toss-up. The key to beating MSU is a quarterback who can take advantage of the aggressive style of the MSU defense. If Patterson can withstand the pressure from MSU and pick pocket the safety play of MSU, Michigan should come away with a victory.

I would put OSU still a lean loss. OSU's recruiting classes have been ridiculous and I actually fear Haskins more than Barrett. However, from 2016 and 2017, we have seen Harbaugh lay it all on the line for OSU, so I am still cautiously optimistic.

Michigan's floor is likely 9-3, with a ceiling of 12-0.

There is too much talent on defense for this D not to be able to go into ND, MSU, or OSU and set the tempo early until our offense catches it's rhythm. The offense returns its core from last year, as well as a QB that is formidable for big ten play. I expect the passing game to take a relatively strong leap forward this year with not only Shea, but the returning of our WR's and TE's.

The time is now. The schedule is hard, but Michigan has the talent and coaching to make a run for the college football playoff. We have the recruiting classes, the coaching, and the will to make this a season to remember.
