The official international Final Four Watch Party Thread

Submitted by cweerapp on
All- Well aware how disdained "where to watch the game" threads are around here but hoping to consolidate locations and receive some mercy. Also throwing this up a few days before the game to not clog up any actual content on the board. I searched the Mgobars thread for bars in Melbourne and came up empty so here goes. Any other Michigan fans in the Melbourne area looking to watch the game? Because of the early local tip (~9am) best bet is to call a bar in advance and set up a watch party. I'm with 3 other M grads and happy to make some calls if others are stuck down under! For those in similar positions around the world feel free to drop your international Michigan bar discoveries to prevent these threads in the future. Much appreciated!

So this is the official "Where I Can I Watch The Game On A Freighter Near Galordon Core In The Neutral Zone?" thread, correct? I wondered when this thread would appear.

In all seriousness, I may bump this one to the top occasionally until Saturday as someone is inevitably going to post about their predicament.

The Parlor , 7250 Melrose Ave, Hollywood, CA

Rock and Brews , 6300 Pacific Coast Hwy., Redondo Beach

Come join lots of Michigan Alums.

I watched the last round live in LA, but have to travel to Chevy Chase , MD for last 2 games...Anyone know where to watch the game in Chevy Chase - Bethesda, Maryland ???

U of M Club of DC just sent this out:

Exiles Bar - Exiles will be the main UMDC bar this Saturday. There are two floors and a back patio if the weather is good, all with TVs.

Ivy & Coney* - Ivy is where we see many of you for Michigan game watches. It is a cash-only venue and will also draw Loyola-Chicago fans since it's a Detroit-Chicago bar.

The Good Silver*

Midlands Beer Garden - Great beer garden in Petworth. The patio will be open if the weather is nice.

Ventnor Sports Cafe - Long-time supporter of Michigan basketball and hockey game watching, Ventnor is a family-friendly venue.

Bar Bao - Our main Virginia location and family-friendly.

A group of us watched the 2013 final at Ventnor and it was a great experience.  Not overly crowded but definitely full of an engaged crowd.

Well, you are correct that it's a national holiday weekend in Germany, but not for that reason unfortunately. Odds lean heavily towards anyone saying something to you about Michigan gear probably thinks you're dressed too casually for easter. You see some Michigan gear around, but predominantly hats as a style choice.

I have no problem at all with "Where can I watch the game in XXX?" threads on MGoBlog.

MGoBlog Michigan fans are knowledgeble and well traveled.

They'll tell you not only what restaurants / bars will have the game on in Budapest, but also the size of the TVs and whether the sound will be on.

Google will just give you 2,000 Yelp reviews about dining in Budapest . . . and a link back to MGoBlog asking the question where to watch the game in Budapest.

At JFK now and haven't had any luck finding info on how to watch in Dublin. Any help would be appreciated by me and by family members who don't want me ruining a great trip with my bad attitude about potentially missing the game(s) this weekend.

It looks like Plato’s might be the best since we have kids. If not for those meddling kids, we would have gotten away with the casino bar!

Watched FB game against Utah at Marriott hotel bar in Munich. I would suggest looking for Americanized hotels and asking if their bar will show it...worth a shot at least.

Any leads on a location in Shanghai?  There's an outside chance I will get to go back to the states in time for the game, but it would be nice to have a plan if I'm still in Shanghai.

With the start time in Switzerland being so late, I don't think my wife would be too happy if I invited people over at midnight to watch the game at my place. I did however buy an Amazon Fire TV and have installed Express VPN on it along with the March Madness app to watch the games. The game on Saturday should be aired free on that app. I think the title game will require me to subscribe to CBS All Access app to watch. Or, I will watch over my sister's DishAnywhere account.

I think it's 3 hours if you don't log in with a valid network subscription. I use my sister's Dish Network to get all the games. The quality on the app is better than using her DishAnywhere, but I will see what gives me the best option come early Sunday morning. I have lost sleep the past few weekends because of the start times of the games, but no way am I missing this live!! Did the same in 2013... watched the title game which finished close to 6am... went to work at 8am. This time, I am on vacation the day after!

Hmm, my cousin had to turn on the VPN to watch the second half of the A&M game because it ran out. Maybe he had watched part of a previous game.

I'm a terrible sleeper in general, but after two weekends of getting up in the wee hours, I have woken up at 2 every night this week.
