NY6: Liberty vs Oregon… a sacrificial lamb? OSU v Mizzou. Thoughts?

Submitted by Amazinblu on December 3rd, 2023 at 3:13 PM

It appears the NY6 has a matchup between Liberty and Oregon.   I am wondering what the spread in that game will be.

OSU v Mizzou… I think I have my meteor game…. It makes me wonder which Buckeyes will opt out.

Thoughts, perspectives, or comments?

You can say, "This happens everywhere," but I happen to believe there are, let's say, certain philosophies that might be unique to Liberty, that are why this is going on there. You can try all you want but I'm not going to be baited into saying anything that will be spun as political or motivated by some form of bigotry, to get me in trouble with the mods.

seriously.  and the great thing about us hypocrites (that means you and me) is that we don't know when or where we're being hypocritical.  hypocrites are always blind to their own hypocrisy.  accept the blindness, have some humility, and hopefully some insight into our respective blind spots as well.

Rooting interests in sports can pretty random. Having your institute founded by a jerk off like Jerry Falwell is sufficient for me to hate them.

A school employing an asshole doesn't sway me as much as the school being founded by one, especially when the asshole was alive during my lifetime.

Hiring Hugh Freeze didn't help either.

Baylor AD,  Hugh Freeze and the sexual assault cover situation and Jerry Fawell Jr's resignation because of his swinging are enough to make Liberty a joke.   I mean their stance is pretty much pro degenerate behavior.     On top of all of that they teach young earth creationism.   If there was a flat earth university you'd make fun of them too.

My Dad is a minister and we drove to CA for a seminary training and stopped at Liberty University in the mid-80s.  There is a 100 foot tall statue of praying hands.  Turns out a lot of the ministers at the seminary stopped there on their way out.  The joke was that if you dig down another 100 feet you find the rest of Jesus.   (I don't know if the joke is funny or not.)

Because the whole school is a big real estate empire run by Fall Well Jr. until he was exposed as a hypocrite, a fraud and a swinger. He walked around campus with a plastic bottle of vodka and was drunk most of the time, and yet still disciplined students by fining them for possessing alcohol or having sex.

Also, hardly a bastion of intellectulism or deep thought, we knock our conference rivals all the time for academics, but they are Stanford compared to Liberty which is ranked deservedly somewhere between #395 and 435. I certainly don't think ratings are everything, but when you've been around for 50 years and still hover away at the bottom of the rankings, it certainly tells you something.
