Noticed similarities of Super Bowl champion James White and Kurt Taylor

Submitted by trueblue262 on

With obvious reasons, I think most on this board would probably crown Brady the MVP of last night's historic SB win. But James White did make a case for himself as well. Which made me look up his stats and recruiting profile this morning. I found the results to be very hopeful when comparing them to our own Kurt Taylor

If nothing else, maybe we have a future RB tandem similar to Montee Ball & James White.....That certainly wouldn't be a bad thing! Personally,  I'm pulling for Kurt anyway because it just seems that he really showed that he was destined to be a wolverine!

James White was a starting RB at a national football powerhouse. Kurt Taylor was a backup this year at a state power. James White is an elite receiving back. The law of stars would say that Taylor pans out much less than James White. I'd like to be wrong, and I will be negged for this, but I don't think Taylor is a Big Ten caliber back. I do admire his devotion to this class and his work ethic as he is obviously built like a brick wall. I think he was offered too early and when he was teammates with other kids we wanted more. Then those kids went elsewhere, Taylor transferred and we couldn't shake him despite not much communication. Just an opinion. I saw Higdon's film 2 years ago and saw a very capable, under-the-radar back. I don't see it with Taylor.

If you take White's average senior HS rushing yards per carry of about ~9.6 ypc, and just invert the 9 so that it is a 6, then you are left with 6.6 ypc, which you must admit is very close to Taylor's ~6.7 ypc. Also, you'll note that although their first and last names have different numbers of letters on an individualized level, BOTH COMBINED NAMES (FIRST + LAST) HAVE 10 LETTERS OVERALL. I shit you not.

have similar skill levels at all.  White looks pretty danged good.  I was actually surprised to find out this a.m. he didn't get the MVP award for the game.  He made a huge difference for the Patriots.  Of course it's always hard to argue against TB getting it either.

I'm reminded a bit of when people were comparing Trey Burke to Chris Paul and suggesting a similar career arc. Seriously -- that happened.

I saw some similarities last night between Tom Brady and Alex Malzone. Neither is really super tall. Both had to sit behind higher rated prospects. Both are married to supermodels. At least I'm pretty sure Brady is married to a supermodel.

I like our RB haul this year. Omaury is strong as fuck and fast. Very athletic. He could make an impact right away. As for Taylor the only thing that worries me is his entire offensive line, he posted a picture, all had scholrship offers to decent schools so he had a really good oline which defintely helped. Time will tell with taylor but I think he'll be solid come his final years

You could match up any recruit to an NFL player with a similar profile out of HS. Just as you could match any recruit to a similar profile but turned out a bust.

If Roger Taylor, Andy Taylor and John Taylor fired Simon LeBon and Nick Rhodes and hired James Taylor and Kurt Taylor to join Duran Duran....my God they'd all be Taylors yet unrelated. Whoa.

Taylor might not have the top end speed or jukes that Evans does but he won't fall down when a feather blows across the field and brushes against his shoulder pads. I'd say he has good enough vision. Straight up Taylor can ball. He is strong as hell and has enough speed and quicks to compete at Michigan. Get him working on his sprinting and working on those abs and hip flexors along with some grueling plyometics for the quicks and you have a lethal cat boys.
