Gus sucks.
Its like he took notes from Fox-era Joe Buck, and then decided to do the opposite and be the most over the top announcer possible. By now, he has Flanderized himself to the point of no return.
Every play is an orgasmic scream. Every player and team has a lame nickname.

The thing is he’s gotten so inconsistent with his use of the orgasmic scream. I swear half of the touchdown plays he just goes “Touchdown Wolverines” meanwhile a 5 yard out by Deakon Hill he makes seem like a Mahomes pass.
Thats in between him saying “Iowa has Michigan right where they want them” and the camera then flashes the score of 17-0

He tries to hype up every semi-important play as if it will be a game changer. Iowa down 17-0, and they complete a 12 yard pass in their own half.."OMYYYYGAWWD DEAKOOON HILLLL DRIVING THE M.A.S.H. SEASONS 2-5 HAWKEYES DOWN THE FIELD...."

It's glorious
I never thought I'd get over the losses in 2006 and 2016, but the last 3 years have done it.
3-peat with both teams in the top 5 in all matchups, the final one being the last The Game before the expanded playoff - and after Day went all in on "cheating Signgate" - just perfect. Chef's kiss.
Their fanbase is having an existential crisis. Just one last thing to do...

2021: breaking the losing streak / starting the winning streak
2022: beating them in their own toilet bowl
2023: proving they are charmin soft after they put all that effort into derailing our season

All three games are so great in their own way.
'21 broke the streak and felt so magical
'22 was the most fun. A public execution in their own house
'23 was obviously the most important in this 119 year rivalry
