I don’t mind a tough road win against a team that called a good game. Last year we learned something about ourselves from Illinois and fixed things for ohio. I believe we will learn from the mistakes and fix things up again. It was another game of sticking to our basics and we played ultra conservative. The team has definitely focus a little bit ahead, but that’s natural. Give Maryland credit for going balls out…they played like they had nothing to lose, which is exactly what their coach intended.
I assumed we were running the ball because we wanted to control the clock. We knew our defense was locking them down aside from a bunch of 4th down tries and some tricky plays. I feel like it was a control the clock strategy and only throw if you absolutely had the right look. Just my theory knowing absolutely nothing about the coaching/game strategy
Fair point but we put up 40+ points on OSU the last 2 years and I would argue the big ten is not known for being offensive juggernauts…so OSU is probably in a similar defensive state
Unpopular opinion but I prefer not rooting for USC as they are entering the big ten soon and generally are privileged students already. We have a distinct mental advantage over OSU and no doubt in my mind Georgia would smoke OSU. USC has a big long term gain if they get into the playoff or even win the CFP. Don’t feel weak and be afraid of OSU “backing” into the CFP…they are not mentally ready to win
Utah is going to beat USC and KSU is going to beat TCU…Ohio state and Alabama will sneak in over ACC Champ Clemson who lost to a mediocre SEC team (South Carolina). We will make OSU fans miserable by handing them 2 losses in a year. We will beat Alabama in the championship because Nick Saban will only be planning for Georgia and assume that’s his championship game. Boom!…letter signed and sent to Santa

Love your optimism, but there’s nothing I’ve seen, from Harbaugh, to make me feel like he can motivate these players and change the way they are playing. If we want to think about competing for championships, then we need to have strategy, play, and motivation disrupters (NCAA is a business, and this is how you reinvent yourself in competitive and quickly changing business environments)...I don’t see that from our leadership, but I’m glad your gut is telling you that it will happen this week :)
