I'm enjoying Kirk Klatt's commentary.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:51 PM ^
Chelsea/Man U is on...I don't even follow Premiere League like that, but this has to be better.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:52 PM ^
...and no commercials.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:51 PM ^
Brian Ferentz is trash. Petras is trash.
OSU is a fake tough guy. No matter how many times they say they are tough and physical, it's obvious they are still a soft team.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:52 PM ^
Not up on the nuances of recruiting but where does Iowa normally stand? Are their classes in the bottom of the BigTen? Kids still end up at programs that seemed to have cratered or nose diving.

Iowa's biggest problem is that their O-line is terrible. Usually, they're between above-average for the B1G and very good. As noted elsewhere, they tend to have 1 decent receiver, but he transferred to Purdue where he already has more stats than his Iowa career. Their RB is also substandard. They often have low 4-stars. (Recall we stole Higdon from them.)
Overall, I think their talent problem on O is a combo of bad luck w/ a lot of things happening at the same time plus perhaps worse development on the line.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:52 PM ^
When Iowa doesn’t have at least one decent wide receiver this is what happens. Defense basically covers Laporta and that’s it for their offense.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:53 PM ^
Is Iowa's punter beginning to believe the hype that he's the best player on the team?
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
Hard not to watching from that sideline the offense do what it does.
And hell, what...are they going to bench their only "weapon"?!
I do think he had that play somewhat...he needed to highball it to the sideline though and his extended hesitation brought more defenders.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
He's not wrong.
And that's the problem.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:53 PM ^
There's no PI there. Soft team.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:53 PM ^
Hot take: Kansas' magical season is over. They will lose the remainder of their games and finish on a seven-game losing streak. No bowl in Lawrence.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
Most likely because Leipold will be eyeing Wisconsin or Nebraska jobs.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:54 PM ^
Guys it's Iowa's Oline. It starts there. It's gotten bad. If they could run the ball as in past years B. Ferentz and Petras wouldn't look sooo trashy. They can't even hold up in pass-pro. Huge liability.
I don't really like Ferent the younger but he's quite limited. Why the fuck they can't play thr backup QB baffles me. We know all too well around these parts the backup QB isn't always the best option even though he becomes the favorite player. But good god...Petras is really it 7 games in?!
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:54 PM ^
How can the Iowa defense tolerate to be in the same locker room as the Iowa offense?
They deserve better.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:56 PM ^
Perhaps they should paint the offenses side of the locker room pink
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
So frustrating. If the offense was even halfway competent, this would be a great game.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
I'd put it on the coaches, not the players.
You don't need to have superior athletes to run a functioning offense, you just need coaches that can game plan and call plays that give the players their best chance at success.
Iowa doesn't have that with their current offensive coaching staff
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:56 PM ^
Iowa is an abomination to the game of football
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
Media shockingly goes easy on Tennessee for playing UT Martin this week
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Isn’t it standard SEC practice to schedule a scrimmage in the middle of the season?
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:58 PM ^
Pacific Life's financial security advice: Have Kirk Ferentz as a dad.
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:58 PM ^
Ohio Stadium is ugly as shit, and I'm not just saying that because I hate OSU. It has no aesthetic appeal.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:08 PM ^
Who models a stadium after a horseshoe?
October 22nd, 2022 at 12:59 PM ^
Iowa's defense has held buckeye to three straight field goals on three short fields. If only they had an offense.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:00 PM ^
Iowa gives up an interception, a fumble, and a failed fake punt, all on Iowa’s side of the field, and all Ohio State has to show for those gifts are 9 points…
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
Obvious PI on OSU
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
The ACC blows if this is their best two best teams

Iowa play of >10 yards!!!!
AHHHHHH!!!!
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:03 PM ^
Iowa football has no purpose. Like what is the meaning of its existence?
They've become a parody of B1G "physical, tough, manball, defense, {insert cliche her} with nothing to show for it.
They are essentially a meme "punting is winning" and nothing more.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:03 PM ^
fumble recovered and ran back for 90 yards
clemson overrated. dj overrated.
either that or syracuse is really really really good
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:04 PM ^
God damn rooting for Iowa and having to watch their offense is a futile and life-shortening process. Can you imagine having to watch them every week? Just brutal
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:04 PM ^
holy wow that was a terrible call to try and convert for Iowa
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
Iowa playing for a field goal.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
Iowa celebrating being down six is...very Iowa.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
Iowa should run an all roughing-the-passer / targeting a scrambling QB offense. Could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
I'm surprised how bad Iowa's blocking is. They were always a fundamentally sound team under Ferentz - when did this change?
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
his son has been slowly making them worse every year
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
Whoa! The Iowa punter has competition for best player on the team - the kicker! Nice 49-yard FG.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
Iowa vs OSU is a pretty evenly played game so far.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
LFG Iowa
Only one pick six or fumble return away from the lead
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
Iowa is on fire. They are within 3 score.
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
Ohio St with a huge 19 yards rushing so far
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:07 PM ^
Maybe Iowa's D can come up with another big play
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
All they need is 3 safeties now
October 22nd, 2022 at 1:08 PM ^
What’s Bucknuts gonna do when Jim rolls in and says stop my run game every down.
