Brian Ferentz is trash. Petras is trash.

OSU is a fake tough guy.  No matter how many times they say they are tough and physical, it's obvious they are still a soft team.

Not up on the nuances of recruiting but where does Iowa normally stand? Are their classes in the bottom of the BigTen? Kids still end up at programs that seemed to have cratered or nose diving.

Iowa's biggest problem is that their O-line is terrible.  Usually, they're between above-average for the B1G and very good.  As noted elsewhere, they tend to have 1 decent receiver, but he transferred to Purdue where he already has more stats than his Iowa career.  Their RB is also substandard. They often have low 4-stars.  (Recall we stole Higdon from them.)

Overall, I think their talent problem on O is a combo of bad luck w/ a lot of things happening at the same time plus perhaps worse development on the line.

Hot take: Kansas' magical season is over. They will lose the remainder of their games and finish on a seven-game losing streak. No bowl in Lawrence.

Guys it's Iowa's Oline. It starts there.  It's gotten bad.  If they could run the ball as in past years B. Ferentz and Petras wouldn't look sooo trashy.  They can't even hold up in pass-pro.  Huge liability.

I don't really like Ferent the younger but he's quite limited.  Why the fuck they can't play thr backup QB baffles me.  We know all too well around these parts the backup QB isn't always the best option even though he becomes the favorite player.  But good god...Petras is really it 7 games in?!

I'd put it on the coaches, not the players.

You don't need to have superior athletes to run a functioning offense, you just need coaches that can game plan and call plays that give the players their best chance at success.

Iowa doesn't have that with their current offensive coaching staff

Iowa gives up an interception, a fumble, and a failed fake punt, all on Iowa’s side of the field, and all Ohio State has to show for those gifts are 9 points…

Iowa football has no purpose.  Like what is the meaning of its existence?

They've become a parody of B1G "physical, tough, manball, defense, {insert cliche her} with nothing to show for it.

They are essentially a meme "punting is winning" and nothing more.

God damn rooting for Iowa and having to watch their offense is a futile and life-shortening process. Can you imagine having to watch them every week? Just brutal
