NFL Playoff Thread
Mates,
Watching and enjoying the Ravens @ Tenn game. Titans go up 10-0 and look strong, but the Ravens have shut them down and just scored to go up 17-10. I like Derek Henry, the Titans big back, but am rooting for the Baltimore Harbaughs and their massive, and I do mean massive fullback. Never saw the guy before but he is 6' 3" and weighs in at 311! The guy can move and already has three pass receptions in the game. Apparently drafted for D-line they asked him to switch and now he plays fullback and sometimes TE. Cool story.
The other games today are:
@ N.O. 10.5 pt favorite over Chicago and
@Pitt, 5.5 pt favorite over the Browns.
Happy Sunday everbody.

Great adjustments by Ravens D after getting gashed in the 1st quarter. Not sure how this reflects on our new DC but adjustments are nice. One can hope

I hope he gets a massive payday as a UFA so that there's a spot for Bench next year.

Hopefully today slate of games will be as fun as yesterday's. So far the Baltimore/Tennessee game is living up to expectations.

Yesterday’s games were pretty fun

When do the Lions play? Did they earn a bye?
January 10th, 2021 at 3:22 PM ^
Yes, correct, the lions earned a special bye called a buh-bye.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:25 PM ^
They got a 34 week bye.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:57 PM ^
The Lions under the Fords have been on a 6 decade bye.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:27 PM ^
Want my Titans to win but expecting a loss.
Them winning might mean Michigan gets a DC this week.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:44 PM ^
Looks like wait another week. Nice D by Ravens. Hopefully, that comes to UM.

I recall the days when Drevno or Pep was OC and whenever Greg Roman was mentioned as a replacement, the consensus on the board was "hell no". Now he's looking like a savant calling plays for Lamar Jackson.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:42 PM ^
I've said it before and I'll say it now. John Harbaugh and Greg Roman deserve all the credit in the world for completely renovating their offense to fit Lamar Jackson's skill set instead of trying to fit him into their previous, Joe Flacco offense.
I liked Lamar Jackson while he was at Louisville but after all the "experts" wouldn't shut up about how he'd be better served moving to WR in the NFL in the weeks leading up to his draft year, I really can't help but root for him more and more.
January 10th, 2021 at 4:13 PM ^
20 points and less than 200 yards passing against a bottom half defense is savant-like?
January 10th, 2021 at 5:03 PM ^
OK, what term would you like to use?
They had 236 yards rushing, so why would they pass when you don't need to, more risky, and its not Jackson's strength? 400 yards of offense ain't too bad in a highly competitive playoff game, about doubling the output of the opponent. Maybe use a larger sample size or more measurables if you're going to make this point. The commentators were sure complimentary of his overall performance this year. They are in the playoffs, won the first game, and look pretty tough to beat.
January 10th, 2021 at 5:36 PM ^
They've been fine and you're correct they did what they needed to do to win today. 20 points isn't going to cut it in the vast majority of games though, including none so far this weekend. The offense looked pretty rough for periods this year as well and again the stats you mention came against a below average defense who's offense was inept.
Why would I need a larger sample size but you don't? Commentators are complimentary of everyone so I don't know how that's remotely relevant.
January 10th, 2021 at 8:09 PM ^
It's all good, have some upvotes...I made a general statement that he looks good and many did not want him here. I agree they've been fine and my point still stands. You countered with a simplistic sentence about points and passing yds from one game (small sample, if you're going to challenge me, then bring it with some data, the burden of proof is on you for your argument), I only mentioned total yds and rushing and a few other things to simply broaden the discussion a little.
January 10th, 2021 at 9:46 PM ^
You called him savant-like, which despite being an extraordinary claim for some reason requires no burden of proof. When I disagree, with admittedly not much, it's a simplistic statement about one game. When you respond in kind it's just to broaden the discussion a bit. My posts are apparently a desperate attempt for upvotes but I guess yours are a righteous pursuit of knowledge. It's seems like you're holding me to a much higher standard than yourself. Please forgive me almighty master of offensive scheming for daring to dispute your highly intellectual and well researched thesis.
January 10th, 2021 at 10:39 PM ^
Point taken. The upvote comment was an olive branch, not an insult. And I did upvote your two posts.
If I substituted "good OC" for "savant", you probably won't agree with that either.
January 10th, 2021 at 11:51 PM ^
Nope, that I would agree with. But for real or just to continue being argumentative...?
January 10th, 2021 at 5:49 PM ^
Lamar can make a lot of bad play calls look good. He’s been up and down as a play caller but I will always thank him for last year being flexible enough for Lamar to be who he is as a player.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:31 PM ^
Bad call on that offensive PI against the ravens. Now i really hope they win
January 10th, 2021 at 3:42 PM ^
How is that not illegal contact? The receiver fell down because the DB threw his shoulder into him.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:46 PM ^
One of those replay angles did seem to show some contact there but it was unknown it wasn’t enough of a look to see if it was just incidental or if it was more substantial.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:48 PM ^
Lamar being Lamar. Wow, what a heads-up great QB.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:48 PM ^
Lamar J, John Harbaugh, and the Ravens put it all together for an impressive win today!
January 10th, 2021 at 3:54 PM ^
Fortunately, Michigan football already numbed me to losing disappointing games this year.
Now the Titans can finally get a DC and some players back for next season. Most of the key guys are under contract, so I think they’ll be back. Though I said the same thing after 2003 and it took 15 seasons to see another playoff victory.
January 10th, 2021 at 3:57 PM ^
And now we wait another week for MacDonald to move to A2. Held a quality opponent to 13 points today, I think Wink Martindale will have trained him well.
January 10th, 2021 at 4:00 PM ^
Macdonald with nice victory over former buckeye Vrabel. It couldn’t been any sweeter.
January 10th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
Anyone else catch the really questionable time management by Harbaugh at the end of the first half? Not calling a TO with just under a minute to go near midfield and that led to some crappy ass play.
Is this a family trait, being shitty at time management/math?
January 10th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
All I know is that I saw a fiery Harbaugh on the sidelines and had flashbacks to 2015-16 Jim for a few seconds.
*sigh*
January 10th, 2021 at 4:29 PM ^
I love the logo stomp by the Ravens.
He who gets the last laugh laughs last.
January 10th, 2021 at 5:14 PM ^
Hey, da Bears, catch the damn ball!
Woulda been a TD. /smh
January 10th, 2021 at 5:56 PM ^
that first game was great... go Harbaugh
oddly find myself rooting for the Bears, whom I hate.... I would like to see Brady get a home game next round.
January 10th, 2021 at 6:02 PM ^
Why rooting for the bears? I think they just got a big break with that scrub of a fumble-6 denial. I agre with romo, that was a catch and a fumble.
January 10th, 2021 at 6:39 PM ^
The Saints haven't extended their lead, but da Bears' Miller just punched a Saint in the head and got ejected.
January 10th, 2021 at 7:15 PM ^
what about that CBS weird camera they are using? it's like an HD camera up close, with everything else out of focus. they're using it on player close-ups between action.
January 10th, 2021 at 7:31 PM ^
Buh-bye, Bears.
January 10th, 2021 at 7:40 PM ^
Wow, I don't know if Brees got the tip across the plane. Where's the microscopic replay?
January 10th, 2021 at 7:42 PM ^
LOL. Drew "We were gettin' it in" Brees crocodile armed it. No TD.
January 10th, 2021 at 7:51 PM ^
Hey, nice one-handed catch. Da Bears finally get a TD with no time left. HA-ha!
January 10th, 2021 at 8:13 PM ^
99 3/4 yd drive, too.
January 10th, 2021 at 8:14 PM ^
looking forward to the browns v. steelers game. rooting for cleveland but thinking that the steeler are going to get past them easily.
January 10th, 2021 at 8:45 PM ^
I hate Pittsburgh, Browns are kicking ass so far. I hope they can keep it up .
January 10th, 2021 at 8:17 PM ^
TD browns!
January 10th, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
You'd think the Steelers were the team striken with all the Covid issues watching the first 10 minutes of this game.
January 10th, 2021 at 8:44 PM ^
Pittsburgh getting trounced. Must be a lot of pent up frustration coming out of the Browns right now.
January 10th, 2021 at 8:48 PM ^
No coach no problem for the Browns! I wonder if this would work for the Lions?
January 10th, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
When did the 20 Browns get replaced by the 85 bears?
