Unfortunately just follows him wherever he goes. Got the shit held out of him constantly here too with almost no calls. NFL and college officials honestly just blatantly refuse to do their jobs in general on holding. You can't call it every play but the amount of uncalled ones not remotely close to legitimate blocks is absurd. I mean what so far this year against three severely overmatched olines UM has one hold called believe.

Play to the last whistle is a phrase where teams that do sometimes win unexpectedly. "Trouble with the snap..." comes to mind. If blatant rules are forgotten or eschewed when the spotlight is on then individual plays seemingly don't matter according to the NFL, apparently. So lets just award wins based on one team tending to makes better plays a little more frequently. Punchers chance be damned.

TJ Duckett and Spartan Bob wouldn't have mattered had Woodley not been held. Similar here. I despise the argument that teams had their chances as if these teams aren't trying and altering the course.

I don't expect perfection from officiating but that was so blatant and game changing as to what else could that idiot be watching. Third and 12 seems better than a TD. A sack and 4th down even better leading to a possible field goal. Maybe the officials would just wave it off since individual plays don't matter. Just the aggregate. Think about what Detroit lost as a team in severe injuries playing their hearts out for the shallow to just say they had their chances as the Lions postgame radio guy did. Too often against this team. Sheila step up!

Fuck the Lions and the dumbasses with their gimmicky face masks. I blame myself for drinking the koolaide after the KC win.
This is a wake up call:
NEVER trust the Lions, they will only rip your heart out and laugh at you like an 8th grade crush.

They are cursed, fuck em.

SOL. Bad defense, critical mistakes, and bad coaching….same shit we have seen for years.

The lack of serious investment in terms of a pass rush is crippling. Lions couldn’t generate a pass rush vs a team missing both starting left tackles. DBs couldn’t cover anything. Offense made two critical errors that cost them 14 points. Seattle got 21 points on short fields the last coming on when Campbell decided to go for it on 4 and 3 on his side of the field.

I mean the rules are written on what holding is and they are just not being enforced. But yes I get the feeling at both levels officials are being encouraged to do whatever they can to help scoring. But that is bs and not what football should be. Both sides of the ball should have to earn what they get, offenses essentially being allowed to not play by the actual rules is bullshit.

I know a few will say it's only 1 game, Packers lost, blah blah blah but this is a major disappointment.

Yeah, nobody had us going 17-0 but after that big win last week we came home and played a mediocre to decent team who was without essentially their entire starting line. The Lions want us to believe they are an elite team. Elite teams win those types of games. Not only did we not win, but our defense which we invested so heavily to improve looked like trash the entire game. If not for the missed FGs Seattle wins easily.

This is just like the Carolina game last year. Expectations get sky high and they absolutely choke. We did this same thing against Seattle at home last year as well. Had we won that, we would have made the playoffs.

The Bengals were in the Super Bowl the year before. The Bengals have proven they are capable of winning when it counts. Yeah the Lions won 8 of their final 9 games last year, but realistically how many of those games mattered? We had like a 0% chance of making the playoffs when that run started and then so many breaks went our way it looked like we actually had a chance....and then they completely laid an egg against Carolina. Yeah, we looked great against Green Bay to end the year, but by then it didn't matter.

I don't want to hate this team. I'm a season ticket holder that lives on the opposite side of the country (I'm in Europe and missed today's game) but in my 30 or so years of following this team I can't think of a time when they ever won a big game...and that's because they haven't.

Are you not entertained??

Say what you will about the refs, the coaching, it was a hell of a game. It was intense! Both teams balled out. I lost track of the injured players. Grats to the Seahawks on the win, time to move on to week 3...

Looks like the Lion's hype train has derailed. Atlanta is a better team then Seattle, so odds are we will be 1-2. In our division the Vikings will beat us twice. We may beat Green Bay at home? We may be able to beat Chicago twice? I just see another 9-8 season or maybe only 7 wins. But we'll see what happens but this was a game the Lion's should have won at home.

Yep, the Lions just have been a big disappointment since I started following them as a young child in the late 60s, minus a few exceptions. I did like the 90s with Barry Sanders. After a strong finish last season and defeating the super bowl champs on the road, they lose to Seattle (probably a .500 team at best).

As a Vikes fan I can say with authority, your take is ridiculous.  Cousins will probably put up big numbers, but the Lions will win one, if not both of those games.  The Vikes defense is a sham.  The Eagles showed that with a run game performance that would have Harbaugh drooling.
