NEW Mike Hart Appreciation Thread

Reincarnating this thread because: 5 TDs on the ground for Haskins and all those glorious yards after contact yesterday directly correlate to Mike Hart's influence on our RB corps.

He coached Haskins to the win yesterday that he never achieved as one of our greatest uniformed tail backs. May he be validated and uplifted in this poetic capacity through the results his players delivered the world yesterday.

Mike Hart is the fucking man.

I just came back here to do this very thing, Mike Hart was probably the best of the off season hires IMHO, because he was the epitome of toughness while he was here as a player.

He infused this toughness into his Running Backs and I'm so happy that he finally got a win over the Buckeyes!

Mike F’ing Hart he truly is one bad ass. Definitely has been a great influence on the RB room and huge addition to the staff. Really glad he and Harbaugh were able to work out their differences and turn the ship around here.

Yes. This was the hire I’ve wanted for so long and couldn’t be happier about the results. We’ll see if he can continue this success but I hope for nothing but the best. Maybe he can even take over as HC one day far down the road. Always loved Hart. So glad he’s back.

2019 - 5.1 yards per carry

2020 - 6.0 yards per carry

2021 - 5.0 yards per carry

Mike Hart did not transform some mediocre running back into a great back.   Some significant credit ought to go to the previous running back coach who recruited Mr Haskins and saw the potential in the 975th ranked player on the 247 composite.

M had a crowded Running Back room at the end of 2020.  It sucked to lose Charbonnet to the transfer portal but in retrospect, we see that Mike Hart made excellent choices.  He bet on Hassan Haskins to be the #1 guy and he was 1000 percent correct.  Also you can see the impact he's had on coaching up these RB's; they are more patient in following their blocks when warranted, terrific at making guys miss, decisive and ready to shift into high gear once they have an opening, etc.  Cleraly Mike Hart has made a HUGE difference in the effectiveness of M's running game and I hope he sticks around for a very long time.
