Nebraska v. Michigan tips

Submitted by Grampy on September 17th, 2021 at 5:12 PM

Looks like my buddy and I are going to venture into the cornfields of Nebraska to see the game.  Since there hasn’t been a ticket value post, I did some looking on-line.  The cheap seats on stubhub/seatgeek seem to be available and in the $90 range per.  So, should I play poker and see what happens to ticket prices after Oklahoma turns them into paste?  Seems like a good bet for us.

Also, Lincoln in an C-class RV will be a new experience for us.  We would greatly appreciate any tips my fellow board members have with regard to parking.

Definitely wait on tickets, should be $50 for good seats by then.  Also don’t sit in first dozen rows as row1 is field level and won’t be able to see over helmets.

Only serve Blue corn chips at your tailgate. Or mix them with the yellow to get the maize and blue experience.

Now that I think about it, how the hell could the team be named the Corn Huskers and not have maize as one of their team colors?

First. Tickets won’t be cheap. They sell out and the fans go. They support the team, as it’s the only game in town. And it’s the Michigan game, what Nebraskans thought they’d be getting a regular dose of when they joined.

there is not a bad seat in the place; it’s cozy and lots of access in the stadium to food and toilets.

the stadium is right off the freeway and has easy access no matter where you come from.
If you’re going, though, go EARLY if you’re coming by way of I-80. Real early.

the fans are great and they’ve been humbled by the teams fall. It’s fun and you’ll want to go back.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but there are PLENTY of bad seats in Memorial stadium.

* If you are lower sidelines, the first 10 rows have very tough visibility.  because row 1 is at ground level, and the stairs are not steep so takes a long time to correct itself.

* If you are in the top 5 rows of the lower sections there is an overhang that actually gets quite low and is at best quite distracting

*  If you are in the high corners of the south endzone seats, you will not have full visibility into the coorner of the endzone,  this is typically not horrible, but you could miss a pass play in your corner of the endzone.

The fans are nice, they may actually make too much of a point to tell you how nice they are, but overall you'll have a good time.

Prices won't go down too much, but they could skyrocket if Nebraska somehow pulls off the upset. Probably better off just buying now, especially considering Oklahoma couldn't stop a high school offense

I live in Omaha and am playing the waiting game. First, I want to see when the game is to make sure it doesn't conflict with work (I have to go in at 5), but also to wait out the results of NU-MSU an maybe Northwestern as well. If they lose at least one of those (assuming an Oklahoma loss tomorrow), my guess is that the price will go down. If they win both, then they will probably stay where they are now (unless the UM game ends up being a night game, that might drive the price up).

I would definitely wait until after Nebraska’s game today before buying any tickets. If Nebraska loses, as I believe we all expect them to, then you’ll probably be able to buy good tickets right up until kick off. There’s a very good chance that Nebraska will be 2-3 or 2-4 upon entering the Michigan game.

But if they somehow beat Oklahoma today, then you’ll probably want to buy tickets sooner rather than later, because I have to believe that will completely re-energize Nebraska’s season and their prospects, and tickets will start selling fast.

have fun, though. I’ve heard nothing but great things about seeing a game at Nebraska.

There is a pretty good chance Michigan comes in undefeated, as Wisconsin doesn't appear as daunting as we all once thought. At worst they'll be 4-1.

Now--the other catch is if Nebraska fans (not likely) don't want to go--Michigan fans WILL--keeping prices high.

In fact StubHub has two at 60 bucks as of this minute--with $88 parking passes.

Michigan wins today and next week--again, even if Nebraska is poo, demand will still be sky high as Michigan fans will want them.
