CollegeFootball13

Still in the earliest stages of this process, but I wonder since this isn't necessarily under the same rules as before (even calling it EA Sports College Football instead of NCAA Football) if that'll open up the IP to other developers? Could we potentially have competing EA and 2K college football games?

A man can dream.

I don’t know how much you guys still play NCAA 14 but the guys at College Football revamped have done a killer job with the game. They’ve added Costal Carolina, App State, Charlotte University, they’ve updated most of the uniforms from 2017-2020, they’re adding a playoff 4/8 team mod. It’s really hard for me to switch back to a game that plays like madden to be honest.

I just installed the most recent college football revamped update which included the B1G teams.  Can't wait until they Crack the scheduling systems.  It should make for an even better game than it already is.

I play mine on my pc, so it runs pretty nice.

So I just looked into this since I game on PC at the moment, what is the legality on the revamped update since its an emulator. I bought the physical copy of NCAA 14 way back, does that mean I can legally download the PC emalulator version?

So I checked it out and definitely it is what it claims to be. An emulated NCAA 14 with updated rosters, logos, uniforms, conference changes, etc. Does require a pretty beefy computer though to run decent surprisely. I have a 3700x and 3070 and it still cant maintain 60 fps most of the time. Still perfectly playable though.

Anyone else ever check out RyanMoody21 on YouTube? He's been collecting glitchy Madden videos for some time now. There is some TRULY awful and unforgiveable gameplay going on there.

Madden hasn't improved its gameplay in over a decade now. The reliance on scripted events and animations has destroyed the core of the game.

Excellent news!  I wasn't planning on buying one of the next-gen systems for quite a while, but I'll need to pick one up later this year now (when you can actually find them).

I'm still on '14 on the old 360 at least once a week.

Beat my post by a split second.

This game was always the one game I cared about every fall. In fact, I don’t think there was a year I didn’t buy it from 2003-2014, so it coming back is the best news all day.

Awesome. I'm still playing NCAA 14 daily on 360. I love creating custom schedules and scheduling big home and homes. In my last season, Navy ran the table and I played them in the MNCG.

Hopefully this game comes out this year but I won't be holding my breath.

What I still want is a NCAA basketball game. Imagine being able to customize your schedules to play big out of conference games! Customize who Michigan plays in the B1G/ACC challenge. Customize who you play in mini tournaments like Atlantis. Big time home and road conference games, the B1G tournament, NCAA tournament, recruiting, etc. It all just seems so damn fun to me. I will take NCAA football back but man do I want a basketball game.

Will not include the names of real players.

For now, EA Sports is planning to move forward without rosters that include the names, images or likenesses of real college players. Current NCAA rules prohibit athletes from selling their NIL rights while in college.

Yep, exactly. I mean in NCAA 13 everything about Denard was pretty much 100% accurate except he didn't have dreads. Very easy issue to get around though if you randomize rosters but allow people to create a more accurate one with edits. I mean if they lock editing though I'm out cause I'm not playing a game with completely random rosters.

Agree that roster creators do a much better job of rating players, which is why it's cool if they want to totally randomize the out of the box roster to prevent the issue before where EA's rosters themselves were to close on player likeness, but if they lock out editing entirely for roster creators that would suck.

It would be even more glorious if it was also the return of 2k to football games, and it was them making it. I actually have Madden 21 and while it is not the worst game it is just so mediocre and uninspired in most areas, particularly if you are looking for more sim style gameplay. NFL 2K5 still does quite a few things better, biggest being oline vs dline interaction. But whatever as others said I will take any college football game at this point even if it's less than ideal with EA.

So I just read something about that could be a snag, licensing is not being done through the ncaa, its being done through something called the CLC, which currently 100 or teams are part of but there are notable exceptions. Namely the Big Ten and a couple big programs like Georgia. So they would have to individually work out deals with those schools or conferences or they would not be in the game.

Also I have a bad feeling there is a small chance they use totally randomized rosters and then lock down user ability to edit them. I would be out if its just random rosters without roster creators being able to create more accurate ones. Legally I don't know if it is an issue to have a user made roster that is accurate, as far as whether that encroaches on player likeness. My gut tells me that is ok if it is user created content, but idk for sure.
