My CJ Carr hot take on this board made it on Cover 3 podcast / partial apology

I am a big Cover 3 fan and Tom Fornelli (mio paesano) read out my CJ Carr hot take from MgoBoard on today's podcast.  The funny thing is that if you read my posting history, I go for the "voice of reason" track 98% of the time.

Anyway, I used a silly word to describe CJ and I apologize for that (like he cares - LOL), it was uncalled for / immature for me to call him a name.  I will be better than that going forward.  CJ obviously has the right to go any school he thinks is the best for him and I certainly hope that he stays healthy and gets his shot at the NFL. My daughter actually knows him through a friend and says that he is a good kid and we all know how great the Carr family has been in the Ann Arbor community.

However, on the radio, Mike Spath and Craig Ross (who I really like) both were talking about how Michigan fans should be rooting for CJ and Notre Dame.  Mike Spath said it would be "gross" to root against Notre Dame.  F* that.  I want Notre Dame to go 3-9 every season between now and 2050.

He picked a rival school and said publicly that he wants to start recruiting for Notre Dame.  Given how many times we go up against them, especially for local kids, that means he is absolutely going to be recruiting against Michigan.  Nobody should expect that all of a sudden Michigan fans are going to start rooting for Notre Dame.

Eh. Article at The Athletic states that CJ was “never going to Michigan, despite what” many, including Lloyd, thought. Am sure that the coaching staff will still be blamed for this…”recruiting fail.”

Good article from Pete Sampson in the athletic about CJ Carr. Basically, CJ was never going to Michigan.  For years, he's asked his Dad how he could have grown up in A2, went to college in A2, and never left home.

He always knew he wanted to leave the area for college.  And I don't blame him.

I hope he enjoys being a student at Notre Dame, but I hope his football experience is miserable, they lose every game, and he never throws a touchdown.  He’s now a Notre dame qb, so that’s just how I feel about them

I used to live and die by recruiting. Yes it’s important, but I’ve learned the wait and see approach. CJ may turn out to be great and he may be Ron Poulus 2.0. Who knows?

I respect the kid for wanting to leave and blaze his own way. It stings it’s ND but his life. Maybe our Qb then turns out better and we all laugh that we made a big deal about it and the fan base can all say we didn’t want him anyway lol.

Harbaugh has found tons of guys that were better than ratings and development is the best it’s been in two decades. All is well and Life goes on!

I see all these well wishes and support for him, however I hope he fails miserably , I hope he gets passed on the depth chart and decides to transfer . I wish him ZERO success on the field but much success off it …Fuck Notre Dame

I was just reading an article where CJ said he didn't want to go to college in his home town and knew it was Notre Dame for a while now. Nothing the coaches can do about that. If we can get Moore and/or Davis this will not matter.

I can’t figure out what’s more annoying about this post: the humble brag, insulting a kid who didn’t choose Michigan, or the half-assed apology for saying it.

I really don't see it with this prospect, regardless of his last name. He has already overcome a lot in his life at an early age dealing with loss, and so I sincerely do wish him well as a person. On the field, I doubt he would have ever played at Michigan, and do not expect him to play at ND. One less scholarship for them and increases Michigan's chances with QB's I feel are better prospects. Win win.
