Mutilated Longhorn left in front of Oklahoma State frat
College football dies strange things to people.
Too bad the animal had to pay the price here.

The circulating social media rumor is that this was the high point of a prank war between two OSU frats. The carcass was said to have beem found dead on the ranch of a student's relative.
(Sorry for no link).

A friend of mine just had a cow die in a matter of hours due to bloat. That’s the extent of my veterinary knowledge.

torturing an animal over a sporting event is a piece of shit move.
December 1st, 2023 at 7:38 PM ^
Agreed but if you read the article posted, you won’t find any evidence that the cattle was tortured, or that it is related in any way to the football game.
December 1st, 2023 at 8:28 PM ^
That doesn't mean it wasn't. They probably don't have many details on what happened, hence they can't say for certain it was related to the game and/or tortured.
December 1st, 2023 at 4:14 PM ^
Yeah this is real gross (aesthetically and morally).
December 1st, 2023 at 4:15 PM ^
This doesn't even make sense! You dump the corpse of YOUR OWN MASCOT on a rivals lawn? It's all ass backwards.
December 1st, 2023 at 4:50 PM ^
Some people just don't get it, like how Auburn toilet papers their own trees after a win, and how MSU burns couches after a loss, and a win, and on a tuesday...

This is weird. Someone carved "Fuck FH" into the cattle's flesh, so I assume that's meant to be a sort of threat to the Farmhouse frat, rather than a weird pregame ritual, right?
December 1st, 2023 at 4:23 PM ^
Yeah, that's what I don't understand. So who did this? FH is an OSU frat, the longhorn is for Texas. Did Oklahoma do this?
December 1st, 2023 at 5:40 PM ^
Supposedly this was part of a feud between OSU frats…cant say thats shocking to hear
December 1st, 2023 at 4:28 PM ^
Shocking that the worst OSU fans don't reside in Columbus
December 1st, 2023 at 4:30 PM ^
Yes, it's likely the steer was already dead.
The frat house can say what they want, but anyone who’s ever seen "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" knows who put it there.
December 1st, 2023 at 4:32 PM ^
This is right up there with the Alabama fan who poisoned the tree at Auburn. People like this should not be allowed to watch sports
December 1st, 2023 at 4:38 PM ^
Dude said: Harvey Updyke, hold my beer.
December 1st, 2023 at 4:34 PM ^
This is beyond gross and awful. Hopefully whomever is responsible gets severely punished.
It is sad that people can't just enjoy rivalries and sports without losing their minds.

I find it amazing how law enforcement has so many tools available to catch criminals. It would seem like the average bro would have no idea how to commit a crime without getting caught. There are cameras everywhere, at many (most?) intersections, businesses, residences...XM or someone with a LE background would know more. But I would say there is a strong likelihood they will be caught.

you know, the more i think about it the fact that the steer looks to be in such poor health and no obvious blunt-force trauma/bullet hole/cause of death, the more i am of the opinion this was somebody's steer that dropped dead of natural causes and somebody just put it there in a pretty harmless prank. when they are alive loading those things takes time and you'd have to have the right rig for a long-horn. you'd almost certainly need a chute and a couple of friends to help out. and then unloading it, it's not like the thing would simply walk a few steps and keel over on command.
most likely, it is a typical stupid college prank but nobody hurt the steer and no animal cruelty was involved.

Jesus christ. That is some fucked up shit.
December 1st, 2023 at 5:15 PM ^
This is disgusting and inhumane. This is in no way shape or form funny or "innocent rival competition".
December 1st, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
Oklahoma is one sick state. Anyone who has seen the movie Killers of the Flower Moon can agree with this. Something definitely wrong in the (Still)water there.
December 1st, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
Hope they enjoy criminal charges for animal cruelty.
I look back to some decisions I made in college and think “what the fuck was I doing?” But shit, this is several levels beyond that.

I was a vegetarian for a number of years at M, partly out of desire to not have animals slaughtered on my behalf. But, to be honest, I had a hot girlfriend for a short spell there who was vegan and so I hopped on board. Then I had kids a few years later and getting Happy Meals made so much sense I dropped the whole vegetarian idea.
The photo here is a bit disgusting, but I don't see any evidence the animal wasn't killed as humanely as the other mammals, birds, and fish we eat.
But, I will admit, part of me sort of wants to stick to eating plants.
December 1st, 2023 at 8:30 PM ^
Except it was killed (and maybe tortured) for literally no reason other than to taunt.
That's vastly different than killing for beef (which, unfortunately in this country, is still horrifically inhumane).
December 1st, 2023 at 5:40 PM ^
Fucking people, man.
December 1st, 2023 at 5:43 PM ^
That is fucked up.
December 1st, 2023 at 6:43 PM ^
That's... disgusting. Shit, man.
December 1st, 2023 at 7:19 PM ^
This is disturbing, in all honesty.
December 1st, 2023 at 7:23 PM ^
I hate people.
December 1st, 2023 at 7:28 PM ^
This incenses me. The perpetrators deserve the full weight of the law dropped upon them.
December 2nd, 2023 at 1:02 AM ^
Uhhh this is pretty disgusting and disturbing
December 2nd, 2023 at 10:50 AM ^
So did these assholes have an issue with the Frat or with Texas? I assume both, but I'm not understanding the link here. (Probably because I'm trying to rationalize an inherently irrational act.)
