and coach. He was the best possible hire for FSU, he will kill it in Florida and already has good roots layed down here. Barnett is a great hire for FSU, amazing coach and guy. That is a big blow he's been the guy behind those great secondaries they have prodcuced.

Taggart's been around long enough that I don't think he necessarily advises Taggart on every single move. I'm not saying they don't/wouldn't talk, but let's give Taggart some credit. He's done a really good job at a lot of places (USF, Oregon, etc.). I don't know why we have to assume that Jim Harbaugh is responsible.

Every time I hear about Taggart, it reminds me of the quote he gave about Harbaugh coming across as a "butthole" to most, until they get to know him....

He improved on the crater Helfrich left him and was recruiting at a level Chip Kelly didn't even reach in his prime. For one year he gets an incomplete, but he was looking promising for them

I wouldn't say "responsible." But I wouldn't call it far-fetched, either, to think Harbaugh might play a small role. If you were a new head coach in the ACC, and you had a short list of potential DC's, and one of those candidates was a coach in the Big Ten, wouldn't it make sense to call up some other Big Ten head coaches and ask their opinion of how hard it is to play against his defenses? They have every incentive in the world to give you an honest answer.

Because Harbaugh has enough problems with his own staff...thiking he's some sort of puppet master for CFB is insane. Also Taggart is a pretty fucking smart coach in his own right and knows who good coaches are.

Maybe Taggert asked his opinion about someone Harbaugh coached against and he gave it. Going beyond that seems like a real stretch. Harbaugh has plenty to worry about with his own staff.

Maybe, but after getting head coach experience and from what he's done with defenses, I would think he would get a lower-level head coaching job OR get a big-time DC job (Alabama, USC, Clemson, Georgia, etc.).

Narduzzi has some pretty solid wins at Pitt despite his average record (which is not awful for current state of Pitt program)
See "The U" more recently, as an example.
A guy who can win those kinds of games, at worst, gets a HC job in the American to rebuild his resume were Pitt to go in a different direction.
