More bad news coming?

Hold me Sopwith and tell me everything will be alright!

Prediction: Folks who have been really unhappy with me in my mentions the last couple of days are going to be really, really unhappy with me by dinner time.

Even if it's nothing, a steady drip of nothing goes further to sully our name. There is fascination, there is antagonism; there will be a drip, drip, drip.

I vaguely recall reading that one of the reasons Yost Fieldhouse was built was because other teams would rent  houses across State Street and spy on our practices from the upper floors over the wall.

Yeah, my assumption is that they'll have some image or video of a guy with an iPhone out at the game, as that's been what has been floating around.  They've already posted a bunch of information about the students from Stalions' Venmo account, so I doubt this becomes anything more than that.

It won't substantively change the claims already made but I do get a sense that OSU driving this whole investigation may blow up in their faces a bit since it seems pretty well-known they've got guys doing stuff like this.

It has been interesting to see non-OSU partisans come out (like JJ Watt, Deion Sanders, like Brady Quinn and co. on a podcast, etc.) and say, basically, this isn't something novel or unique to UM and other schools absolutely do it and they're just lucky their guys haven't been caught.

I have no idea who this is, and I really don't care to devote my time to find out, but this is all probably going to get worse before it gets better.

I don't know if it'll get as bad as MSU/OSU trolls want it to get, but I doubt we've seen the worst of this whole situation. Granted, I'm a cynic by nature, but I doubt we've seen the last of the allegations.

Is he one of those early or late dinner time people? I need to know whether I should be imminently worried or not worried for another 3 hours.

Unfortunately everything these buckeye assholes have been hinting at for weeks has come true so far.  I'm guessing we are going to get this annoying drip feed of stuff which is clearly from their side and whatever Cryin' Day's PI found.

If it's related to hacking, then we are actually done for.  Otherwise, who cares.

Everyone needs to calm down with the BPONE. A ton of the stuff coming out and everyone Zapruder-filming everyone piece of Michigan footage (from rival schools) has a basis in what other programs do in legal sign stealing.

Read the SI article about what Clemson did (and OSU whined about) in 2020. A ton of the "ZOMG evidence" from Buckeyes and Spartans is stuff that goes on everyday in football, people are just searching for a narrative on these being illegal rather than legal. Analyst on the sidelines. Databases of signals. Checking around with others, reviewing footage, etc. - all of that is part of legal sign stealing operations. Distinguishing between the two might be difficult, and doesn't make for good twitter and media drama when you want to take down a program.

Is there some smoke? Uh sure, not going to deny that, but that doesn't make anything associated with sign stealing as illegal.

So—now that we are past old Florida people early-bird dinner time, can I ask, are we talking about Euro dinner time, or Midwest dinner time? Or West Coast dinner time?

From my experience, journalists who do this type of hype tend to disappoint. They have to sell the hype because their article/information isnt that big of a deal. You see it a lot with recruiting stuff.

But if he actually does have some new big information then, again, WTF is the NCAA doing allowing these leaks?

Edit: His big story is that Stalions allegedly purchased a ticket to a Clemson game. Figured he was just hyping it up to get more clicks and follows.

The NCAA isn't leaking anything. Whiny bitch ass Ohio State and Ryan Day are shadow running this investigation and leaking shit to the media. To the Ohio State trolls lurking on our board to see us worried. I've gotta message for you. Your team and their crying third baseman head coach are getting their asses handed to them Nov 25th.

He just tweeted:  “SOURCES: Michigan's alleged sign-stealing operation extended beyond just Big Ten foes. Buckeye Huddle has learned that Michigan staffer Connor Stalions also purchased a ticket to a 2022 Clemson home game.”

Well that was a big nothing and I can’t believe I spent an hour worried about it.

I won’t even post the Twitter link, but his “news” is that buckeye huddle identified Stalions bought a Clemson ticket in 2022 too. I don’t recall thinking when we would end up playing Clemson. But 2022 was definitely not their year. So I think this helps us if anything.

edit: I guess they were in the hunt for a bit. But this is still a giant nothing.

I think we can all agree that Stalions bought a bunch of tickets to a bunch of different games, so that isn't exactly breaking news. Will he next blow us away with revelations that people were in those seats recording?
