Welcome to the season; new mod sticky.

WHY WAS MY THREAD DELETED? Read thishttp://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/mgoboard-faq

WHY IS MY ACCOUNT LOCKED? Read thishttp://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/mgoboard-faq

WHAT IS THE APPEAL PROCESS? Post here (start a new account if you were banned), or email David (all or our emails are our names at mgoblog.com). David will then ask "Why is this person emailing me?" and we'll be like "Just handle it" and he'll say "But how? I don't want to be the guy doing this" and I'll say "When it comes to dealing justice, trust the guy who doesn't want the job, that's what I always say," because I always say that.

Don't comment in this thread unless you have to: If you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.

Hall of Stickies Past: For those who love to get lost in the meta. The first, the second, the third. the fourth. The fifth. The sixth. The seventh. The eighth. The ninth.

Does Michigan recruit too many kids from comfortable backgrounds?

Good case of a title that killed the thread. The OP might have asked a question worth exploring if it had been phrased as "Are we getting players too close to their ceilings" or "Should Michigan start taking more deep shots in recruiting?" and I don't want to discount the idea of a player's background as predictive of their success in college either way. But immediately turning it into a socioeconomic thing is Marcus Ray-style hot-takery just asking for a reaction to the stereotype instead of research.

Not worth restarting now because the pot's already been stirred, unless the OP wants to make a diary with the numbers. I have an open recruiting database of Michigan players for classes back to 1990 for someone willing to put in the work. I don't want another thread from someone who isn't willing to.

They are tired of Jimmy and Patterson

I nominate "I know what the players are thinking because it's what I'm thinking and what I'm thinking is it's time for the 3rd string quarterback!" guy for the list of Top 5 worst kinds of fans. Sent to Bolivia so he'll never make threads again.

Thank you to the Mom who just moments ago deleted the thread "Bitches or Bullies?".

That poster ("Nelzq" or something similar) was a little psycho or something.

(Edit: thanks "Wolvermarines"!))

Geoff Schwartz: “It’s alleged that Rashan Gary got over $300k to attend Michigan"

Schwartz is just extrapolating if Clemson offered that much that Michigan must have paid too. Not worth non-new information and I don't want a bunch of people from this site going to twitter to argue with Geoff.

Michigan's Offense Can and Will Turn It Around

Appreciate the positive note but this is a hawt take unless you support with critical thinking (i.e. "stats and/or scheme observations to support your assertion")

I have no issue with the closing of that thread, however

A) I feel it’s an important enough issue that it should have been locked and kept up like the debate thread if it was getting out of control (although everyone I saw seemed to be in general agreement I’m sure deeper in the thread got bad) and

B) I know the mods are not Brian and might even agree with me on this, but I feel like the blog owner posting blatantly political front page posts within the last couple of years created a very unnecessary source of confusion regarding what’s actually allowed on here, specifically when he still has the original ethics page on the blog up that says “Things I will not post on — 1. Politics...”

I understand the argument you make in point (A) and I considered the same initially.  However the difference is that the "debate thread" offered an interesting fact and news in the thread title.  The fact that went south is why I locked it.  The other thread was pure politics and off topic completely.  Thats my rationale.  But always open to Seth et al overriding me!

For the first time the Harbaugh era it can be legitimately stated: we have no chance to beat OSU, PSU, ND.
