I believe a few other coaches (Ferentz and maybe Allen) may have spoke in favor of sharing revenue with players, so that might not be the ncaa's issue (besides, they've been anti-Harbaugh since at least the satellite camps).

One week ago, everybody here was like, "Booooo, you stink."

This week, everybody here wants to make him an honorary captain for The Game.

Strange bedfellows, indeed.

This was my initial thought until it became known that an investigative firm was behind this. Unless the investigative firm was hired by someone associated with the NCAA then this has nothing to do with Harbaughs revenue sharing comments. Although, they might punish Harbaugh harder due to those comments.

Why is everybody surprised at Mo saying this? This is the same guy that was Tressel's first domino, when he and a few other players said they were illegally paid. Shortly after, he tried to go pro "too early", then tOSU promptly destroyed him.

He obviously had his own personal issues as well, but this is a tried and true playbook. OSU knew the kid was wild as shit when he was putting them on his back the year they won it (2002?), but they didn't give a shit until he spoke out against the "powers that be."

Glad he got his life back on track.

I agree the NCAA hates Jim because he wants the players to be fairly compensated

I again refer to the scene in Moneyball where the Red Sox owner explains how dinosaurs react to the new thinkers.

For all the people saying they're surprised a Buckeye is saying this, based upon what happened 20 years ago, I'm not sure Clarrett has a ton of loyalty to OSU.

His performance against Michigan in 2003 was legendary.  He literally played 15-20 plays maximum and was the best and most impactful player on the field by a wide margin.

Bravo Maurice Clarett.

I'll never get the image out of my head of that lumbering look of #13 sauntering out onto the field and thinking "he's too chunky, can't move well enough to give our guys problems"

These statements are about as unexpected from him as I found his ability to churn out yards in the early 2000's.

I personally think it's about:

1.)  The 2nd & 3rd place teams (osu & bama) don't want to see Michigan win 1,000 first. If the ncaa vacates 30+ Michigan wins, then either may be able to claim that one of those 2 may be the first to 1,000 wins. When Michigan is the 1st to win 1.000 games, they can spin the narrative that Michigan "cheated" their way to wins. osu & bama have already had wins vacated.

2.)  The ncaa doesn't want to see Harbaugh as the coach of winning # 1,000, which will be etched in stone, b/c of the things he has done since becoming Michigan's coach. (European/USA tours, satellite camps, Signing of the Stars, sharing revenues with players, etc...) When he is the coach of winning #1,000 then his name will be written in history. It's amazing that all of this is coming out 5 - 6 games before win #1,000 and it could have been "reported" early in this season or last season.

3.)  Hamburger Gate!!! which every team probably does too.

4.)  Stealing Signs Gate; which every team does.

I think that the recent Big 10 "AD Conference Call" is being started/pushed/supported by 1 - 3 universities, (osu, psu, & rutgers) with sparty supporting them. day hates Harbaugh b/c he's been embarrassed for 2 years, going on 3. schiano is a buckeye lackey. LAME BRAIN JAMES can't win most big games. sparty is sparty and they wannabe a wannabe, which is better than what they are now. (ha ha sparty)

As for Mo Clarrett saying it's about someone going after the establishment, think of a former president with the same issues.

JMO!!!
