Nice work knocking off arguably the best team in the country. GO BLUE!

Sorry, but Rutgers just isn’t ‘arguably the best,’ and haven’t even sniffed the spot this year. The NCAA tourney will make this clear. FSU, for example, beat one NWSL team and tied another in pre-season exhibitions; M, delighted though I am for my school, would have gotten waxed. Soccer is a game of unexpected results, but the ACC is playing in a different stratosphere. Would be delighted to be wrong, btw, but go and watch number one VA and number two FSU, who played in the ACC championship yesterday.

EDIT: The ACC will have 7-9 schools in the tourney, but--noting here also--M does have the number 5 RPI. A number one seed would be awesome, but there's conjecture that Rutgers might get that anyway.

I watched most of the game.  Our women pressed the action in the first half resulting in a goal and controlling the pitch.  They turtled the second half, pressing just enough to hold on.  Rutgers had won 13 in a row to that point and had the B1G10 regular-season title.   They were #2 in RPI.

Congratulations on the tourney title!!!

The tournament selection show is tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.  The first four rounds are at campus sites with the final four in Santa Clara.  As of yesterday we were #7 in the RPI.
