Michigan Women’s BBall team plane makes emergency landing; Everyone safe
Wow, glad they're alright.
Think maybe the university needs to add an aviation department.

Might be better to add an advanced meteorology department, as it's more a problem of not taking off or flying through storms, than it is a problem strictly with mechanics.
Doesn't even have to be storms. Feb and March are the worst times to fly as the jet stream changes over North America. In 2019 a flight I was on had to make an emergency landing in Reno due to turbulence (the cabin was trashed) and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
This time of year is the absolute worst to be flying north. Glad they're safe.
Why couldn't this have happened before the tourney?
I'm like WHAT?!
Took me a second....
I laughed at that joke minutes later, AFTER leaving the website. Well played.
Phew! May they all make it home safely.
Thinking our teams should start driving to the tourneys.
Drive? To San Antonio? What?
Thank goodness! Uh, these aviation incidents are becoming a little too common for our basketball teams, maybe it's time to purchase a few Winnebagos...
What is with our basketball teams and airplanes??
Sounds like a door seal went bad and the plane couldn’t hold pressure believe it or not these things happen. Glad everyone was okay.
Enormously grateful everyone was safe.
Glad they're safe, that had to be a scary landing, though! But the team picture was something that will end up on a Christmas card from the program.
In the linked story about the game (linked in the artical that Squirrels posted), Naz Hillmon had an awesome quote regarding all the firsts the team reached this season:
"...This has been a special team having a lot of firsts but now it’s time to make seconds. We’re a program that’s coming to compete and is not going to be an easy program to step over.”
They're going to start making seconds. I love that!!!
(Here are the 'firsts' she was talking about: a 10-0 start, the program’s highest ranking of No. 11, Hillmon’s 50 points against Ohio State, the Wolverines’ best seed in the NCAA Tournament, and then the first Sweet 16 appearance.)
SCOOP THERE IT IS!!!!!! SPRINKLES!
That must’ve been scary. So glad everyone is ok
They just ran this story on WXYZ here in Detroit. Glad to hear that everyone is OK.
Good to hear they're all safe.
Michigan basketball teams and planes seem to have a sordid history.
DeJavu all over again
Whew! Thank the Lord, that they are alive and well.
That would scare the crap out of me. Not sure I could fly again.

sheesh. a more apt ending for a season - on the edge of utter disaster but ultimately successful -you will not find.
