Michigan will open against a new HC in 2022
Steve Addazio, last seen meekly leaving to the field to the interest of no one after getting his second personal foul flag of the game on Saturday, has been fired at Colorado State.

That makes two new coaches in the non conference. And given Todd Graham’s history, we can’t assume it won’t be three.

Hopefully for them Urban Meyer isn’t their search firm this time.

OSU RB Coach Tony Alford is a CSU alum, and that program has some potential for a G5 school. Huge enrollment in a beautiful area with a beautiful stadium.
Lets start the Alford to CSU hype train folks.

Take Kerry Coombs with him as DC
December 2nd, 2021 at 12:58 PM ^
No!!! Please leave Coombs alone at OSU - dude can't coach. Who cares if he can recruit when his corners play like so much dog poop?
December 2nd, 2021 at 1:44 PM ^
Because he’s such a good recruiter even they don’t want him to go?
December 2nd, 2021 at 2:03 PM ^
For OSU, coaching ability is a bigger variable than recruiting. They'll always recruit well.
December 2nd, 2021 at 12:29 PM ^
It feels really odd and extremely refreshing to not feel obligated to post something to the effect of "Even if he leaves, they'll just find a coach who's just as good, if not better."
Is this what hope feels like?

Colorado State can hire Nick Saban or Jon Gruden as coaches - we are still going to kick their ass right out of the Big House and back into their mediocre conference butt quick.
The Rams should've stayed in the mountains and scheduled teams like UTEP and Nevada - going to be ugly!
Go Blue!

Well given Nevada is in the same conference as CSU and Nevada beat CSU 52-14 this year, I think CSU is screwed regardless.

i remember we crushed them in a bowl a long time ago under moeller.
December 2nd, 2021 at 12:47 PM ^
They were ranked #10 going into that game. And that was Moeller’s last game.
December 2nd, 2021 at 2:04 PM ^
They were a trendy upset pick in that bowl. We would have nothing of it.

As a proud CSU alum,

Those were great uniforms on Saturday though
December 2nd, 2021 at 4:27 PM ^
I was not expecting such heated shit talk about a tomato can non conference game 10 months from now but I’m here for it!!
December 2nd, 2021 at 12:25 PM ^
Addazio seemed to build a bond with the players but was a jerk in press conferences and with the community as a whole which kept people away from the games. A coaching transition at a school like this only means we have a pushover non conference game to start next year.
More time to discuss this situation later. Go Blue! and Beat Iowa is our priority.
December 2nd, 2021 at 4:39 PM ^
The UM football team's priority is Iowa. We, however, get to discuss whatever pertinent or impertinent topic our euphoric brains stumble upon...
December 2nd, 2021 at 12:29 PM ^
They also play MSU on the road again next year. Unbelievable.
December 2nd, 2021 at 12:33 PM ^
Maybe not.
There may need to be other changes to the schedule to make this happen, as it would currently mean Michigan would have no home games in November.
December 2nd, 2021 at 1:30 PM ^
Please let this be true. They already had (presumably) a night game at Kinnick in early October and Columbus on the schedule, it was a bit of a gut punch to get the MSU game flipped back to EL. Not to mention my general hatred for the "both home, or both away" rivalry setup we had to endure for a few years.
December 2nd, 2021 at 1:34 PM ^
This has been discussed a few different times. The MSU game will definitely be at the Big House next season. Super annoying that everything isn't updated yet for schedules on different websites, but it's definitely going to be played in AA vs MSU.
December 2nd, 2021 at 2:12 PM ^
Yes, this was my failed attempt at sarcasm. There was already a thread taken down earlier today discussing this for the thousandth time.
December 2nd, 2021 at 2:22 PM ^
For a minute I thought you were talking about Colorado State and was trying to figure out what their AD was smoking when he put together that non-conference slate.
December 2nd, 2021 at 2:34 PM ^
I would guess that he was smoking dollar bills. You would think that M and MSU would be two of their bigger paydays with no concern about losses.
December 2nd, 2021 at 12:30 PM ^
Maybe they'll pick up Matt Barnes OSU's DC? It would be nice to bludgeon that guy again.
December 2nd, 2021 at 1:03 PM ^
I'm actually looking forward to seeing the finalized conference schedule. I'm holding out hope the conference is going to announce the end of divisions
December 2nd, 2021 at 5:16 PM ^
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I didn’t enjoy Twin Peaks.
December 2nd, 2021 at 1:20 PM ^
Good. As a CSU alum, this guy well... this wasn't my type of guy.
