Michigan will have a Great B10 Tourn. Draw if every favored team wins out in B10

Submitted by RealElonMusk on March 2nd, 2023 at 10:19 AM

Here is the draw if every favored B10 team wins in remaining B10 schedule-   The only downside with M winning 1 or 2 games before the B10 tournament is it will likely put Michigan on Purdue's side of the draw.

Also, I ran into John Harbaugh in the airport this week-  it was great being able to thank him for bringing Michigan back and proving the doubters wrong-  he looked great and was very nice.

You thanked John Harbaugh for "brining Michigan back"?

Edit: not fixing my typo because ofcourse I try to be a smartass and make a mistake myself 😅

I contend that without John, it never would have worked and Jim would have been fired. John has been quite collaborative with Jim trading coaches and schemes and a strong pillar of support. No doubt John's credibility sold coaches on Michigan since Jim is more independently innovative.

Jim likes people who are fired up about football and love meritocracies. Jim needs coaches to help work with the emotions (highs and lows) of players and make sure they feel heard and ensure all players feel part of the family.

Now more solidified with wins under his belt, Jim can better attract the coaches that complement the team dynamic.

Yeah, and in that scenario, Michigan almost assuredly has to win the BTT or at the very least make the final, just to get in.

If they win it all they avoid the First Four, but in the scenario of going 0-2 then 3-1 in Chicago, the best they could reasonably hope for is being one of the last four in, which means a play-in game in Dayton.

Michigan could also win their last 2 games and secure a double bye and be in the opposite side of the bracket from Purdue....  I like that scenario as well....

Thanks for posting this, it is crazy to think that Michigan (or any of the other 8 TEAMS) could finish anywhere between 2nd and 9th place with only 4 days left in the regular season....

I like this one -

I want this bracket so bad. It would be incredible for us to grab the 6 seed, staee gets the 7th seed, and is forced to play Wisconsin, followed by Iowa.

We would have the opportunity to exact revenge on Indiana at a Michigan fanbase heavy United Center in Chicago.

If Michigan loses to Illinois tonight while Rutger beats Minnesota, there will be a 7-way tie for 2nd in the B1G. That boggles my mind with one game remaining in the regular season. Good luck figuring out the tiebreaker scenarios. Sparty will be a half game back in 9th place.

Disagree. Don't want to open against a PSU team that won't bump Michigan up enough to get off the cut line. Don't want Iowa on 0 days rest when Iowa is on rest. That's an offensive game, and you can't win those against IOWA if shots are short.

I feel like the big ten tourney is a total free for all this year.  Purdue's been struggling, Nebraska's been playing better, OSU has won a couple in a row.  Granted schedules aren't balanced but you have about 10 teams bunched together within a loss or two of each other.  Just about anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

great tournament draw?  Playing a team they split (PSU) with but that includes with probably their worse played game in the B1G.  Win that and play a team (Iowa) they were 0-1 against.  This is one year I don't think there isn't a combination of teams that would make me say that is bad for Michigan.  Has been that kind of year for the B1G.

"The only downside to M winning a game and making the freaking NCAA tournament is that Michigan might get Purdue in a house money BTT quarterfinal...."

Bro...we don't Michigan to lose the next two games.

Hey look, if we lose our next two games we get a great draw for what would then be meaningless games before the NIT!  And then imagine how good that NIT draw will be!  We could win all those games!
