Michigan vs Utah is on Fox Sports one - not in basic Dish packages

Submitted by bringthewood on

I started looking at the earlier content posted on the game and noticed it will be on FS1. I have the Dish 120+ Pack which does not include FS1 so I will have to upgrade for the day to get the game.

Just a heads up as you might want to see if you get FS1.

Feel free to post what cable/satellite packages include it. I believe it is in the Dish 200 pack.

Channel 33 on Comcast here in southern Wayne County, so I am all set. Worst case scenario, I do have seating for 7-8 in the family room if there are people desperate for a TV and Michigan football too. I am sure my wife wouldn't mind so long as I gave her at least a week's notice that we could violate noise restrictions on the street.

Is it FS1 in all markets?  I wonder if the West Coast will get the game on one of the basic cable channels since it's Pac country.

It should be.  The only difference would be regional coverage for baseball games on a Saturday afternoon or something like that, but this game will stand alone on FS1 that night.  Also, you shouldn't have to worry being in Pac12 country since, you know, Utah is playing.

hmmm... I don't recally the last time any college team other than SEC/Army & Navy have played on CBS.  I think everyone was hoping for ABC but Fox has rights to Pac12 games and they snatched it up.  Why they are putting it on a cable channel is beyond me.  Glee must be on that night or something.

Is that the first game of college football season, I mean for all teams? If it is thats pretty whack that it isnt televised on a major basic channel. Luckily i spend more than I really need to on TV so Im good to go, Im assuming all my friends will come over and ruin my college football viewing experience (I prefer to watch UofM football alone).

Why the fuck is this game being played on a Thursday? This seems like a very dumb idea, but perhaps there's a good reason that I'm overlooking. Thank you.

How would Michigan get exposure without playing on Thursday night? I can't wait until people across the country finally know who Michigan is after this Thursday night game. You'd think everyone would have noticed all the wins, legendary coaches, biggest stadium in north america, the Heisman trophy winners, high profile coaching change, big ten championships, national championships and unique helmets; but I guess not. Finally, when the only other football to watch is high school JV, people will see who Michigan is. The days of obscurity will be over, at last!
