I can see why people think this D could be better than last year. I see it. Very fast and the young guns are playing quite well. I want to see against a bettter defense, but this D is going to be something special. I hope we can take advantage of the special D this year.

At least of a few of those throws that went downfield were just good plays.  For example there was a play that because Zaire was chased out of the pocket effectively became a stop and go.  Watson recovered and got a swipe in.  Kinnell was there in case.  Guy just made a good catch.  Occassionally the other team will do that (the bastards).

Full and unambiguous credit to Kirk Herbstreit.

He went out on a limb on College Game Day and said that our defense would be better than last year.  They all looked at him like he was from mars.

We ran out a bunch of guys who didn't play much last year, and they played like veterans. Bush is like a young Zach Thomas, but faster. He and Hudson were on everything, Metellus let nothing get past him, the new corners were swatting stuff down left and right.

Love me some Devin Bush..he's so quick in the traffic. Dline played well, still waiting for Gary to look like a beast. Only concern was Levert Hill getting beat twice early deep. Hopefully he can learn a lot from this game. Overall, happy!!

I love the fact that it is no longer watching the god damn bend but dont break mentality on defense and that he attacks, attacks some more and just for a few breaks, sends another dude through the line of scrimmage to wreak some more havoc.

It is fun watching Michigan play defense the last two years...has not been that way for awhile.

Still a little fragile if some key guys (Bush, McCray, Hurst, Gary, Winovich, either safety) get hurt, but man that starting unit.  Bush was fantastic, absolutely everywhere.  Hudson is destructive.  DEs were both a little aggressive and gave up contain a couple times and I guess the corners could do a little better with one on one coverage deep.

That's really nitpicky though.
