Another Delaney vision. We will see more of that in the years to come.
Used to happen a lot more. IIRC, that's how they fixed the conference schedule when Penn State joined the conference. Michigan started one year on the road at Illinois.
First Jinder Mahal wins the Smackdown Heavyweight Championship, and now this?
Bet heavy on India.
I've watched some Big Ten football games that have seemed longer than a one week cricket test match.
tOSU has mad resources. Don't sleep on their ability to recruit Asia.
Jeez what a weak start to the season. I mean MAC schools are one thing but India? What is there average O-Line size? 5'7" 170 lbs?
NCAA has really gotta start looking into oversigning.
Is Oklahoma supposed to be any good this year or have a shot at taking out OSU?
OSU will crush them just like they did last season. It's in Columbus, too, which is more reason to believe that game will not be close.
Yes, just like OSU crushed us on the road in 2015 and then crushed us even worse a year later in Columbus...oh wait.
I don't know how you can assume an OSU blowout victory. I mean they are definite favorites to win, but it's Oklahoma, not Illinois. Should be a good game.
Everyone said that about the 2016 OSU/Oklahoma game, but OSU, with an inexperienced team, smashed them in their own house. I fully expect OSU to win by two or more touchdowns. Also, I don't know what UM/OSU has to do with this topic.
Maybe we'll get a Virginia Tech situation...
Whoever told you that it's witty to use "oh wait" at the end of a sarcastic statement lied to you.
Ohio State lost all their receivers from last year....
4 tds from a reciving corps that had more or less than 10 all season? Hard to think OSU will be better offensively this year without Samuel as well, even if JT is your cup of tea.
Oline and QB make an offense go. RBs are mostly plug and play. While the previous guys were excellent, as long as their expected to be elite O line is opening holes, the replacements will run through them for a lot of yards.
WR is a little more a ? but again, if the O line gives Mayfield time, which they should, he'll be able to hit whomever they throw out there and they'll find someone that can catch it.
Their offense should be very good still with excellent line and QB play. Defense is more of the wildcard. They have a chance to beat OSU for sure.
points for OSU? Unless armpunting is the game plan. And did you forget how bad that offensive line was?
Really looking forward to that South Carolina St. vs. Southern game. Better clear my schedule now.
It's a huge game though. So, we are looking at a 2:30 local kick-off in Texas. The heat down there was brutal for tailgating the last time.
Would have loved if this game was moved to Sunday night but I understand Harbaugh's reluctance about having a shortened week of prep for Cincinnati.
While we're talking schedule, I still fail to see the upside to playing service academies unless you're good with our DL getting cut blocked all game and wasting a week studying an offense you're never going to see the rest of the year. Thanks Brandon.
Those might be the top 2 teams in the country. My wife is an FSU alum so that will be a fun day in our house!
Yeah I think FSU is a playoff team this year. I think they'll probably lose to Bama but then win out. My family knows some of the Francois family, so I will be pulling for FSU.
No way is Florida-Michigan winning out vs a top 5 Bama-FSU match-up with anyone but the Michigan and Florida fans
fans. Harbaugh lives rent free in their heads and on their screens.
that we play at 3:30 instead of 8:00. Me personally I don't like the primetime games when my team plays unless I am there in person. Too much anticipating and trying to pace myself with adult beverages. Or maybe im getting too old.
That is the best part (other than watching the game) - the anticipation. That's why I dislike noon games.
What in the actual fuck? How is Michigan and Florida not the 8:00 PM ABC game?
Alabama vs. Florida State very easily could end up being a playoff game/national championship rematch in January.
It makes sense. Without that game, we'd be 8:00PM.
I'm a homer, but FSU and Alabama is objectively the better game.
OK, I get that, but this is the lame ass "Cowboy Classic." I expect all of those to be 8:00 kicks. I am really bummed this is not a night game.
think the start time will grow on you as it gets closer. There is too much pomp and circumstance around the early season nuetral field games at night. And the day can get really, really long waiting for it to start. I think this is perfect, at least for those not attending. Watch the noon games and then we are ready to go. Also good for a bunch of really young players, many of them who will be making their debut in this game. I don't mind the spotlight being dimmed just a little bit in this particular circumstance.
Yeah, good points. It could be worse (noon kick).
Bama-FSU may be 1-2 or 1-3 at the start of the year. This isn't hard.
I never said it was difficult. I also don't give a damn about Alabama and FSU being on at 8:00. I'm just pissed that UM/UF is not.
LSU/Wisconsin last year --- 3:30 PM ABC, 7.832MM viewers.
Plenty of people will watch Michigan v Florida. The Michigan/Florida game is not being sent to Bolivia by the TV folk. It will be, at worst, the 2nd most watched game on Saturday, and the most watched game in the 3:30 PM slot.
so fans can watch both. For ratings, it doesn't really matter which one is at which time as long as they're not competing. Fans of each team will watch no matter what time they're at, but fans of college football will watch both if they're not overlapped.
You honestly believe, using only preseason rankings, that Michigan / Florida is a higher rated game than Bama / FSU ?
