Michigan v. sparty Game Thread
Mates,
We might as well have a game thread for this one. I should go on a walk with Mrs. XM, with the sun shining up north, but I won't until/unless we don't start out well.
Let's put sparty out of the NCAA. Go Blue, beat sparty!
Let's top off a fine weekend with another 'W'.
XM
fuck
Fuck there goes brooks for the season. Jfc
Rolled his ankle hard. He'll probably be out the rest of the game, hopefully no more than that. Looked ugly on that replay...
Such a variable injury. Could be fine for next game, could be sprained and take 2 months to heal. Sigh.
Eli going back to the locker room, but at least he looked like he was walking on his own
Thank God we’ve got a week for him to rest. Hopefully this is better than it looks.
Fuck is right
Damn, that didn’t look good. Feet aren’t meant to bend that way.
Damnit. Hoping it’s not too severe
!Wagner
Shit. Hope Brooks is ok.
FUCKKKK
Fuck, Watts was pushing Brooks after he came down, dirty Sparty again!
Nice job by Davis getting back, but he got the foul anyway...
Standing in the lane, completely motionless, arms straight up. I’m glad they let them play, but that was a bad call.
Man these slow offensive starts are getting very concerning.
Need a hot player
Fuck noooooooo
I’m not sure why our luck on layups and post shots is so bad early in games
I think today they got Dickinson off his game early. not sure about other games.
Sparty didn't hit the floor. Is Yosemite Tom going to sit him the rest of hte game/
Wow! That is always the fear in these kind of games. Hopefully, it's not bad. But, taking the long view, he may have until March 27th, almost 3 weeks, before the next crucial win or go home game. This team is talented enough to get past a 16 seed and then an 8/9 seed without Eli.
Minnesota killed us without Eli and they are probably worse than an 8/9
I'm not buying that assumption. Illinois killed us even worse and Eli was there. Blips happen during the season. This team would have almost 2 weeks to practice without Eli, and thusly get adjusted to his absence. That's quite different than a quick turnaround in the middle of the season.
The second Minnesota game disagrees.
In the words of Reggie Miller, that looked like a monther. Even if he can play, he'll be feeling it for a month.
Davis is not playing well today.....
Missing bunny hops.
Yes, and some getable rebounds, and was responsible for that lazy turnover that led to points. Bad few sequences.
Livers needs to wake the f#@k up. Poor pass followed by poor D
How was that Outabounds not our ball?
It's called Big Ten officiating.
Can we please get Hunter back into the game?
Chaundee shot not on today - Brooks was the only one hitting, too.
Brown hasn't had the same impact he did earlier in the season. The defense and effort is still good, but he's been rough offensively.
True but how about driving to the basket instead of jacking up 3’s
Hunter. Stupid foul.
Davis does not time his rebounding jumps very well.
Not looking smooth yet.
Davis need to step up!
Call a cheesy foul on Hunter but not the moving pick on Maddy boy, refs suck.
I thought that was more a lapse by hunter than a bad call. The oob to state and not calling that ‘screen’ or whatever that was - those were bad calls
If you told me we are shooting above 30% from inside 3 feet the last 4 or 5 games, there is no fucking way I’d believe you.
Why does Hunter need to drop his hand on that cover?
Can Livers step up actually?
Not liking the feel of this game so far.
why is Dickinson on the bench?
Well, he has put three shots off of the side of the backboard today, so hopefully he's getting some coaching.
Weird observation: Langford looks like a college basketball player from the 2000s (or even the 90s) got in a time machine and ended up at East Lansing, 2021.
Anyone else catch that vibe?
He’s got the Gary Payton look going on. I thought that the other night.
