I mean, he'll return to Belleville and still no one will be able to successfully negotiate a left out of the Menard's parking lot even with that signal being there. Some things never change indeed.

I'm thinking it's bad, right? Michigan's relationship with the program is considered a sunk cost by the staff, and that kid is going to suffer all sorts of social pressure.

I don't think it's a bad thing. Yeah, he'll be at Belleville where there is a strained relationship between Harbaugh and the coaching staff, but he committed to Michigan when he was at Belleville. It wasn't until he went to IMG that he decommmitted. Additionally, he'll be closer to his brother, Andre Seldon, who by all accounts is as blue as blue can be (who also attended Belleville). At the end of the day, I think the relationship with his brother will have a bigger effect than any tension between the Michigan and Belleville programs.

I assume he'll get an earful from the Belleville coach about how UM is bad but his brother will likely provide a counter-point.  Makes sense if you would rather be close to home and not playing football anyways.

I did teaching observation at Belleville 25 years ago.  Seemed like a nice enough school that served a diverse student base well, but it didn't seem like a school you would choose for your child if you had other options.  The ratings from Great Schools (I access through Zillow) has it at a 3 out of 10.  Cass Tech is a 6 out of 10.   I get the school of choice deal, but why Belleville?  Is it just Crowell?

For the record I went to a lowly rated city school that did an amazing job of educating all of the students.  Scores are often based solely on test scores and not how well schools teach students based on where they started from.
