Michigan pursuing former Ole Miss CB per Sam Webb
Ok I scanned the board like 3 times for this because its been out for a while and comes from Sam. It's Davison Igbinosun, a freshman All-American who was just outside the composite top 150 in 2022. He's one of Partridge's New Jersy kids, apparently Partridge vouched for us which is cool. Sam says there's mutual interest.

A Freshman All-American cornerback on the other side of the field from Will Johnson sounds really, really fun

When he entered the portal 10 days ago the best guess as to where he was going was Rutgers, where his brother plays. I like our chances to bid against Rutgers.
January 25th, 2023 at 8:45 AM ^
It was also said that he wants to go to a contender and that ain't Rutger.
January 25th, 2023 at 11:41 AM ^
What would a transfer portal-Rutger look like? Maybe you pick off more transfers they specifically target than they get in total
January 25th, 2023 at 9:24 AM ^
Sounds like a stud. But i thought everyone was saying there are no decent CB's left in the portal? Did he just enter into the portal, or now that we are after him, is he all the sudden good?
January 25th, 2023 at 9:30 AM ^
He entered the portal January 14, chalking his decision up to uncertainty in the Ole Miss coaching staff.
January 25th, 2023 at 10:04 AM ^
No fly zone..,
oh, let do it!
January 25th, 2023 at 7:32 PM ^
Plus Sanristil on the nickel…when does the season start???
January 24th, 2023 at 8:53 PM ^
Great links bro
January 24th, 2023 at 9:08 PM ^
I was not about to be messing up another post!
January 25th, 2023 at 8:01 AM ^
Man, I remember the last time I heard someone say "great links bro."
It was quite the sausage party. /ducks
January 24th, 2023 at 8:55 PM ^
Maybe we can lure him here by hiring his coach.
January 24th, 2023 at 9:16 PM ^
I am pretty sure that Patridge already told the kid he should go to Michigan.
Edit: it is in the OP. I haz the dumbs.
January 24th, 2023 at 9:19 PM ^
Sounds like a win/win.
Excellent analogy 👍.
Young talented player of need and a similar coach.

Close things out with a partridge in a portal tree

Two Corner Backs....

One No Fly Zone
January 24th, 2023 at 9:04 PM ^
This would be an amazing coop on epic levels in the sense that we would have basically every position stacked minus Moody (The War Hammer).
January 24th, 2023 at 9:18 PM ^
And because this Dude (Freshman All American) is so young we basically have our cornerback room set for the next two year seasons. This would be a major pick up
January 24th, 2023 at 9:20 PM ^
Maybe that would finally force us to score TDs instead of settling for 3.
January 24th, 2023 at 9:48 PM ^
We didn’t win well enough for you.
Maybe from now on we should go all Philly special instead…wait, what?!
GTFO
January 24th, 2023 at 10:27 PM ^
I said score TDs. That removes Philly special from the playbook.
January 25th, 2023 at 5:52 AM ^
This is actually a good retort.
January 25th, 2023 at 8:57 AM ^
Corum with the option to pitch the ball to Edwards who has option to throw to JJ probably works enough to keep it in the playbook.
January 26th, 2023 at 12:35 PM ^
If only it actually worked. We wouldn't have to put up with your BS
January 24th, 2023 at 10:13 PM ^
Hurts because true

Something about a Virginia ham and no bread….
January 24th, 2023 at 9:21 PM ^
CB still won't be stacked with this addition, IMO. It'll be "set," but you need this kid + another to be stacked.
OL is stacked, there are legitimately 10 guys who could start on most teams in the country.
RB, obviously stacked...not depth, but you have 2 Hesiman candidates in the same backfield.
If I was doing position rankings...with this addition (since this thread is about this CB).
- OL
- RB
- ILB
- S
- WR
- DL
- EDGE
- QB
- TE
- CB (+NB)
I can't rate K/P until I see more of them.
That's not a knock on the bottom 4-5, the positions ranked higher are absolutely LOADED.
January 24th, 2023 at 9:34 PM ^
True. I guess me saying stacked was a bit much but with Jayire Hill we’d have loads of young talent at corner. Excited about the 2025 youngster commit (forgot his name) as well.
January 24th, 2023 at 9:51 PM ^
Disagree. WR is a position of need. We need help via the portal imo.
January 24th, 2023 at 10:29 PM ^
Who in the portal is an upgrade over the guys we have?
WR is fine, IMO, nothing special, there's no Braylon.
But CJ and Roman Wilson pose problems and we've yet to see Clemons. Then you have Henning and Morris, who looks like that slot receiver who is going to catch everything and keep the chains moving ala Dileo and Perry.
With the OL we have the the RBs we have, plus the TEs we use...WRs will be okay.
You also have to consider Edwards partially in that group. I could absolutely see us going Corum, Edwards, Johnson, Wilson, Loveland.
That is a crazy good lineup with weapons and a bunch of diversity in skillset.
January 25th, 2023 at 7:21 PM ^
CJ is extra average. A homeless man's Marquise Walker.
January 24th, 2023 at 11:20 PM ^
Seems like a decent spot to be in if our 10th best position group features 2 All-American level sophomores, and Sainristil.
January 25th, 2023 at 12:53 AM ^
I'd probably swap the position's of QB and receiver on your list (QB position much better than the receivers)
I'd put RB as #1 position
January 25th, 2023 at 7:53 AM ^
You've got to bump the DL up to 3, and I'd put the safeties above the ILB.
DL has Jenkins, Graham and Benny as 3 guys you have to get snaps for. Add in Grant who was playable as a freshmen which usually portends stardom. I suppose you can argue that you rotate the DL and depth beyond 4 guys would be nice, but I think Jenkins, Graham and Benny are all better at their position than Colson and Barrett are at LB. Even though Barrett was very good and Colson would be at the Jenkins-Graham level if the game slows down for him.
January 26th, 2023 at 1:31 AM ^
I just dont have the confidence everyone else has in our Dline. Im not going chicken little just dont see them as an big impact group right now. We are projecting a big leap there but the dline was a ghost vs TCU including stopping the run.
January 25th, 2023 at 2:18 AM ^
sure, if by stacked you mean deep.
but this pickup would mean the CBs would be the position group with the best starters (including nickel) give or take the RBs.
January 25th, 2023 at 9:07 AM ^
I dunno, man... That OL has a bunch of NFL draft picks on it, and we don't even know who the center and LT will be!
January 25th, 2023 at 10:14 AM ^
As for ranking the positions by how "stacked" they are, it's astounding how far the team has come in the last three years.
In 2015-2020, there were entire positions where the team barely had a one-deep...let alone a two-deep.
The only position where there's any question about having a two-deep at this point is CB. Every other position has a plausible two-deep...or even a three/four-deep.
The discussion re: TE, EDGE, or WR is really nitpicking compared to any year before 2021.
January 25th, 2023 at 8:55 AM ^
Nobody's make a joke about pigeons or chickens roosting or anything? I'm amazed.
January 25th, 2023 at 9:15 AM ^
Yeah - big missed opportunity here. Focusing on intent instead of typos is just not the MGoBoard way.
January 25th, 2023 at 1:08 PM ^
The breading the dog detour yesterday was good for a few laughs

Chickens are too much of a nervous bird...
January 25th, 2023 at 9:26 AM ^
This would be an amazing coupe on epic levels .....
ftfy
-Jeepin Ben (probably)-
January 25th, 2023 at 10:01 AM ^
Epic “coop” huh, you realize that Harbs doesn’t like chicken, because they’re nervous birds, why would he need a “coop”?
January 25th, 2023 at 4:46 PM ^
Debo’s chicken coop would be in the balance. Yes, everything is at stake with this one.
January 24th, 2023 at 9:09 PM ^
This pleases me
January 24th, 2023 at 9:12 PM ^
would.
