Michigan Player(s) plant spear in Spartan Stadium during pre-game

Submitted by MGoBender on

Apparently, per all the Twitters, some Michigan player(s) planted a spear on the block S during the pregame.

Does Hoke have any control over his team?

This is apparently why Dantonio went for the last touchdown (way to take the high road, Mark).  But still, if there was ever a time to not disrespect your rival, it was before this game.

EDIT: Some Tweets:

"Them putting a spear in a field before the game is not a product of their team but their program." - Dantonio on the UofM Pregame spear.

Connor Cook was clear, last TD was because MSU felt disrespected before game. Said a UM player stuck a spear in field before game

Buddy just asked me if Dantonio ran it up because of Nussmeier's reaction but just heard UM players speared the S. That would explain it

— Jeff Riger (@riger1984) October 25, 2014

And worst of all:

Hoke said he was somewhat aware that one his players put a spear in the ground before the game but "not fully aware"

— Mark Snyder (@Mark__Snyder) October 25, 2014

Perhaps, not worst of all. This seems dubious, so please be untrue:

According to the #MSU players, they saw a #Michigan players throw a spear down on their field during the national anthem.

Final Edit: Appears to not be on the block S. Here's the .gif

They would have never gotten the spear into the horseshoe.  They spear sniffing dogs would have been all over it.

He's not "the guy who does it the way it's supposed to" and the great revealer of UM hypocrisy. He's just admitted to be as petty as a petulant 20 yr old. This speaks more to shoulder chip "lil brother" perception than any streak or UM dominance could

Dantonio only answers to his team and his school. He doesn't have to worry how our feelings or genteel sensitivities are hurt. Instead, he let his team respond and exact revenge on ours. Yes, that may be down to the level of 20 year-olds but who do you think is he coaching? They'll probably respect him more for that and possibly play harder for him, which all he probably cares about.

Play the fucking game to win and cut out the sophmoric bullshit.  But then again, that is symptomatic of this team.  We get an early break to start a series in their territory and then fumble the fucking ball on the first fucking play.  That is the essence of this fucking team on offense.  Totally fucking incompetent.

Hoke is not afuckingware of anything.

Dantonio -- Wait until next year. The spear (fictional) will be through your team's heart by way of pounding on the field. Stay classy my fiend (not a spelling mistake)

My Title will be "Behind The Chains -- an Inside look at the Brady Hoke Era at Michigan".  I fully expect Jon U Bacon to take that from me too...just like he coincidentally did with my idea for "Three and Out" which I posted online a year before his book came out.  True story.

I'm giving up on football for the night.  I sincerely hope all the Twitter buzz is exaggerated and, if so, please mods feel free to edit the OP accordingly.  I, however, and going out to drink.

Once again Dumbass Hoke speaks in vaguarities in a lame attempt to avoid responsibility:

Somewhat Aware???

Is that like... Somewhat Pregnant??

Fuck You Brady Hoke, you embarrassing Buffoon.

How in the world does this caveman that speaks with a 3rd grade vocabulary represent a great institution like the University of Michigan? Every faculty member and alumnus should cringe each time he opens his mouth.

Does this explain all the targeting and personal fouls as well as the late td?  State is just a bunch of classles bitches spear or no spear Dantonio would have gone for the late td anyways.

That being said whatever players planted that spear should be running until they puke tonight not sunday not monday tonight. That is just stupid and shouldn't have happened!

And it's good. Really good. For us:

Dantonio had bet a pile on MSU to cover. And at 28-11, he was not covered. Book it. That's what's under the rug, or turf, here. Not spears.

Now all we have to do I get some evidence & we're rid of him!

Honestly, how is it immature? If someone showed up at the Big House, OSU or MSU or ND, and pulled a stunt like that, disrespected our home turf, I would want to send them a message too.  What kind of message does it send to your team to let another team disrespect your home turf like that?

but then decide planting a spear during the pre-game makes sense? WTF? Who was the dim-bulb who came up with that genius idea? Did they really think that would strike fear into the hearts of the MSU team? Jesus H. Christ, that's something I'd expect out of the Spartans.

We really have reversed roles, it appears.

This is totally bush and stupid on so many levels it hurts my brain to think about it.

Someone needs to be kicked off the time.  Or fired.  Or both.

Last year more than half the team ran to the middle of the field and started jumping up and down and taunting MSU on the 50 yard line logo as they came out to warm up. So far the theatrics have worked very well right coach?
