I tried to teach my kid to do this, it's just not the same. Oh, hey, just had another one, another chance!
December 9th, 2015 at 3:43 PM ^
Better hope he has a lot of baby fat to boot.
December 10th, 2015 at 6:02 PM ^
The second one is a lot fatter actually

This would be interesting, because there's no obvious linebackers coach if he comes. Regardless, I doubt it will happen.

... is a "mostly cloudy with a chance of rain" kinda guy.

More like "mostly cloudy with a chance of drinking drain cleaner" kinda guy...
December 9th, 2015 at 2:41 PM ^
That does tend to help if I've eaten too much cheese. It really clears me right out.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:48 PM ^
as if you can have too much cheese
December 9th, 2015 at 3:06 PM ^
It's like eating a spoonful of drano. Sure, it'll clean you out, but it'll leave you hollow inside.
December 9th, 2015 at 3:26 PM ^
that if i ever meet Brandon Graham in person I'll probably say "hey, magnus!" ?
December 9th, 2015 at 3:38 PM ^
No way, I was just thinking that if I ever meet Coach Greg Schiano in person I'd probably say, "Hey, Coach Schiano!"
December 9th, 2015 at 6:27 PM ^
And if I ever see a clown offering free hugs, I'm geting the hell away from there as fast as I can!
December 10th, 2015 at 9:53 AM ^
Awww, don't be like that! I'm a huggy evil clown, not a stabby evil clown...
December 9th, 2015 at 4:17 PM ^
You're not the only one.
December 9th, 2015 at 5:03 PM ^
but somehow resisted the urge to call him Magnus

I prefer mostly cloudy with a chance of meatballs. But that's just me.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:15 PM ^
I'm with Magnus after reading the actual post and not just the tweet.
The post says that he might even sign with Alabama before he even meets with Harbaugh.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:22 PM ^
Meh it was fun to imagine at least... Pruitt and Harbaugh on the same staff would be crazy.
2 bulls in a china shop status.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:40 PM ^
You're welcome.

GMatt?
December 9th, 2015 at 2:17 PM ^
Mattison coached our linebackers last year. (which by the way were better than this year as a group)
And he coached LB's in a SuperBowl???
No Linebackers coach my ass!
December 9th, 2015 at 2:25 PM ^
When would he have coached LBs in a Super Bowl?
December 9th, 2015 at 2:30 PM ^
Pruitt has always been a DB coach. We'd either have to let Jackson or Zordich go or have someone move to a completely new position.
December 9th, 2015 at 4:18 PM ^
Don't forget about Brady Hoke!
December 9th, 2015 at 9:21 PM ^
Too soon.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:44 PM ^
Mattison is not a very good coach his time has passed. The only people left who think his techniques and schemes aren't outdated are Michigan fans on message boards who like to watch defenses rack up stats against bad teams and than get their asses handed to them whenever we play anybody with a pulse. He is a great recruiter and he's in tight with the right people to keep his job but lets not call him some great position coach at this point in his career. I am scared to see what Florida is going to do to us in the bowl game with his bend but don't break schemes. Pruitt would be a homerun hire and honeslty if it meant firing Mattison to get him we should do it and not even think twice about it.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:49 PM ^
yea, cuz our Dline was so bad this year...
December 10th, 2015 at 3:21 PM ^
Watch our Dline against anybody who had a good offensive line. They didn't do anything against Ohio State,Indiana and to be honest Minnesota handled them pretty well. Let me guess though cause we dominated against people with bad O lines like Penn State,Rutgers,UNLV and Oregon State they're all world right? Henry,Hurst,Wormley and Charlton got ran all over at the end of the season cause they couldn't out athlete the guys blocking them. Watch their techniques they stand up almost every play instead of getting pushes by staying low and taking up space. Not to mention they give up the corner to easily. Our lineback play is attrocious no doubt but it didn't help that our D Line over and over again didn't take up any space and made themselves small by not using proper techniques.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:50 PM ^
Michigan's defensive line was arguably the strongest unit on this year's team, at least until injuries hacked away at its effectiveness.
December 9th, 2015 at 4:14 PM ^
Facts tend to get in the way of overstated opinions. Why you gotta throw in truth bombs?

December 9th, 2015 at 3:49 PM ^
that fact that every Dlineman improved this year; many way over expectations, is proof enough of GMatt's coaching ability. i hope he stays the DL coach for years to come.
i do, however, hope they hire a new DC. GMatt is a bit too conservative, imo.
December 9th, 2015 at 4:04 PM ^
the coaching experience that you have accumulated since you graduated from high school about 3 months ago.
December 10th, 2015 at 3:27 PM ^
I know this cause I am very tight with a lot of former playres, know some of the parents and coaches who's kids are being recruited to Michigan and from my 40yrs of watching football. Our Dline just like anything Mattison coaches looks good against the bad teams and folds against the good ones. I would hate for you to all go back and look at Mattisons defenses against teams with winning records versus teams with losing ones. I feel it pry would ruin a lot of your Christmas's. But just like anything with our fan base you can't talk realistic with them cause they don't want to hear the truth. I am sure former players,High School coaches and parents of the kids don't know anything and the guys sitting in their moms basements on MGOBLOG telling us everything that is Michigan is right are correct. I wish some of the people on these blogs could spend one day around some of the former players unfiltered just so they got a real idea of what is going on. Delusional fans are the ones who have the hardest time ever seeing how delusional they are when it comes to Michigan.
December 9th, 2015 at 4:07 PM ^
Not a good coach? Let's see where Michigan's defense ranked in 2010 compared to 2011.
2010 | 2011 | |
Defensive S&P+ | 81st | 23rd |
Defensive FEI | 109th | 16th |
Total Defense | 116th | 18th |
Passing Defense | 112th | 16th |
Rushing Defense | 95th | 39th |
And while we did have some turnover magic in 2011 that alone doesn't explain the defensive turnaround.
And our DLine was arguably the strength of our very good defense this year until we sustained some injuries, which hurt
December 9th, 2015 at 4:19 PM ^
Do you remember how he turned the tire fire of a RR defense into a great defense in his first year under Hoke? The guy can obviously coach defense!
December 9th, 2015 at 10:41 PM ^
no question
December 9th, 2015 at 7:12 PM ^
Mdonley obviously hasn't watch Florida play offense for the better part of a decade. If we lose playing Florida it won't be because of our defense.
December 9th, 2015 at 2:45 PM ^
You're missing the point. We currently have two defensive backs coaches (Zordich, Jackson) and a defensive line coach (Mattison). Pruitt is a DB guy, which would give us 3 defensive backs coaches and a DL coach. Move Mattison to LB coach, and now you've got 3 DB coaches, a LB coach, and no DL coach. The problem is the same, just shifted around.
Let me put it this way, since you didn't get the gist the first time:
If Pruitt is hired, then one of the defensive backs coaches has to go away.
December 9th, 2015 at 3:28 PM ^
It is very possible to have someone coach both the DL and Linebackers, keep the secondary coaches the way they are and not have Pruitt be a position coach. Not every DC has a position they coach and not every team has a coach for both the DL and Linebackers. This wouldn't be abnormal.
December 9th, 2015 at 3:30 PM ^
Please provide examples of teams that do not have separate DL and LB coaches.

I don't know. Let's ask Kyle Flood what he thinks about contact with "professors"...
