Nice! Seems like its been a minute since Michigan has hosted a game in the ACC challenge. I know the COVID year had something to do with that but still, I think the last time we weren't on the road for the ACC challenge was when Beilein was still here.

Either way, it should be a good matchup. They had a bit of a down year last season but I don't expect that to continue with a Tony Bennett-coached UVA team.

I had the same question about their team

Seems like their fans are confident in their coaching (for good reason) but have questions about their roster. There’s some optimism with their upcoming freshman class but all unproven

At least it’s not North Carolina or Florida State again. A friend of mine who is a NC fan and I for years were always wondering why Michigan and Carolina would never play (since 1993). Trust me, we are both over it now and are hoping we would each just play someone else. With our unknowns this year, Virginia may be a better matchup for us.

Agreed.  UNC and FSU can be launched into the sun for all I care.

I don't have a personal stake like you, we've just seen them a lot.  I supposed FSU in the tourney isn't a bad draw, also Tennessee in the tourney. They've been warm and welcoming opponents of late.

Finally, no UNC or Duke in this challenge. We played UNC or Duke 4 times in the last decade, and I've preferred those Syracuse, NC State, Louisville type games more just for variety alone.

With that said, Virginia is returning almost everyone back from a bubble team and should be pretty decent. Still winnable.

Its definitely felt lop-sided these last few years since we had to play UNC four out of five years

2017 - @ Chapel Hill for B1G/ACC

2018 - @ Ann Arbor for B1G/ACC

2019 - Battle 4 Atlantis, but we did get Louisville in a top-5 matchup that no one saw coming

2020 - Off year, were supposed to play NC State but that game was cancelled

2021 - @ Chapel Hill again for B1G/ACC

Like you though, I've got UNC fatigue. Let's just play someone else.

I would prefer to be locked-in to Duke or UNC every year since that one game is never going to break your season in b-ball should you lose — but Virginia is still a recent top-tier team.

Nice game.  And MSU at Notre Dame will be a good matchup too.

The matchups were becoming a bit stale and this is a good shakeup.

Glad to see them playing someone else.  Should be a good game, though I'm not sure what to expect from UVa after a somewhat down year

I’m a Blue dad AND a Hoo dad.   The Hoo son was in the student section and celebrated on the field Nov 27 but between snagging UVa linemen and now this there could be some sibling trouble brewing.

But must agree that launching UNC into the sun is a great idea.
