Just bought a new 65” OLED (had to hop on the Super Bowl deals). Hoping the first game I watch on it is a good omen

Nothing worse than a bad luck TV.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:08 PM ^
no one wants a bucket
February 8th, 2022 at 10:08 PM ^
This offense is brutal. Long 2s everywhere. Then a rushed 3 from Hunter. Ugh
February 8th, 2022 at 10:08 PM ^
Harrar shoved Houstan down, how is that not a foul?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:08 PM ^
Man to man defense and not running the offense through Hunter are some early questions for me
February 8th, 2022 at 10:09 PM ^
Our offense is: need a bucket down low? Dickinson. Need a mid-range? Dickinson. Need a 3? Dickinson.
Reminds me of the early Manny Harris years

This is one of the worst basketball games I have ever seen.
I think Diabate is going to be a good player but he is playing WAY too much and the offense suffers a lot when he is in.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
Who else though? Perpetually lost Brandon Johns? Wildly inconsistent Williams II?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:14 PM ^
Probably Johns. His best two games this year he started and did not have to worry about the quick hook. Or, frankly, Jace. Like I said, I’m not hating on Diabate but he is far more lost than Johns right now.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:16 PM ^
Yes he is a possession killer on O. Very active on both sides of the glass at least.
Johns has always been best when starting: Rutgers in MSG in 2020, Tournament last year. Worth a shot. Diabate is much better at the 5 than a back to the basket 4 (It’s not the 90’s)
February 8th, 2022 at 10:09 PM ^
This is kind of a crap fest.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:10 PM ^
Why did the shot clock only reset to 20 after psu threw it out of bounds?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:10 PM ^
We have actually scored 13-0 run since being down 34-23
February 8th, 2022 at 10:10 PM ^
Both these teams suck. Two points combined in 4 minutes.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
I hope not taking advantage of this horrendous PSU stretch of bad basketball will not come back on us. We should be up ten.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
Lots of high level hoops tonight. Just not in this game.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
28 possession game in the first half, btw. Ye gods that is slow.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
We were down one at halftime, we made one bucket and now we are up two.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:15 PM ^
Yeah. What' I miss there?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:18 PM ^
I think it was a phantom point.
It will have its own Wikipedia page one day.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:12 PM ^
We are ABSOLUTELY DOMINATING the first 4:03 of the 2nd half, outscoring the Nits 2-0!
February 8th, 2022 at 10:13 PM ^
It’s like watching a 7th grade girls game.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:19 PM ^
Are you sure you didn't mean 3rd grade?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:12 PM ^
Penn state hasnt scored since the Nixon administration was around and we are up 2. ?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:13 PM ^
Penn State hasn't scored in at least 45 minutes
February 8th, 2022 at 10:13 PM ^
This is a game for sickos only
February 8th, 2022 at 10:14 PM ^
Jones is not a pure pg by any measure. He has trouble dribbling, can’t look for open people because his head is down and goes around the screen while allowing the defender to as well. He’s ok when he tries to take it to the basket but he can’t seem to set up his teammates.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:15 PM ^
15 straight points. Wow
February 8th, 2022 at 10:15 PM ^
I think the commentators make a good point when they mention that Michigan seems to thrive off of sets. This team has no playmaking juice otherwise when they're not using screen action. Jones is the primary guy who tries, but he's just not quick enough to shake guys consistently. Same goes for Eli off the bounce.
I agree that a team is at their best when they can just attack without rhythm, but it feels like Michigan just lacks the personnel to do that. It bogs everything else down too: Houstan is probably best as a standstill shooter, but if there's no initial breakdown of the defense, he doesn't get opportunities. Hunter often needs to be at the 3 point arc setting up screens instead of position to post up inside. Ideally Collins and Bufkin have some of that skill, but defensively they're not playable right now. If anything, I want more sets from Juwan, it at least gets something flowing.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:16 PM ^
Announcers keep talking about the PSU offense as If the Kobe blow byes were consistently replicable…
February 8th, 2022 at 10:17 PM ^
Penn State hasn’t scored in 10 minutes yet it’s a 4 point game.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:17 PM ^
Dickinson misses?!
February 8th, 2022 at 10:17 PM ^
Next basket wins and lets get out of here injury free.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:18 PM ^
First basket in over 10 minutes and only up 1. How!?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:18 PM ^
Dickinson is gassed
February 8th, 2022 at 10:18 PM ^
What the hell is Hunter doing. Great hustle but yikes.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:20 PM ^
Making sure he gets his double double on one possession?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:18 PM ^
7’2 man misses 5 shots in a row directly under the basket
February 8th, 2022 at 10:19 PM ^
Dear God.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:19 PM ^
Dickinson racking up rebounds. Smart!
February 8th, 2022 at 10:19 PM ^
Keep letting them hang around when should be up by 10+
February 8th, 2022 at 10:19 PM ^
Wow, tough to buy a bucket. Thank goodness HD kept working the boards and can make FT's.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:20 PM ^
How many times can you miss point blank like that?
February 8th, 2022 at 10:20 PM ^
Brooks with the HARD FOUL for...
Uhhh...
Uhhhh
February 8th, 2022 at 10:22 PM ^
Apparently if you are the Penn State Center you can block like an offensive tackle for your teammates, and it’s not a moving pic and there’s no foul for being too far down field. Nice work if you can get it.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:23 PM ^
Also shuffled his feet like three times on a handoff.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:22 PM ^
Hunter is just off.
February 8th, 2022 at 10:25 PM ^
Still has 15 10 and 3 blks
February 8th, 2022 at 10:23 PM ^
My wish for Houstan would be to take things to the basket with power not finesse. Attack the basket, be physical, and get fouled. This finger role, fade stuff is so middle school.
