Michigan Basketball Game Thread - Virginia

Sure just let that guy put his full hand underneath the ball when dribbling

I have never understood why a pump fake by a non shooter get a guy off his feet. Do they not study/practice the scout?  

Good to see the threes falling, but good Lord this team is so incredibly shitty on defense.

Defense has gotten lackadaisical the last few minutes. 

I love Dickinson when he plays his game. Less so from thirty feet. 

Seems like this team will go as far as Jett and  Hunter will take them. I have always been optimistic about the team getting better through the year, but you could see the pieces an I don’t see anyone who looks like they will get better. Even last year from the beginning you could just tell if Moussa progressed and Caleb could hit shots they could be good. This year I don’t see anyone that looks like they have more potential, twill is what he is, Kobe is solid but not great, but I am probably wrong in the end.

Some reeeeally bad defensive discipline on some of these fouls. 

Jett Howard sure looks like a lottery pick to me

Virginia has had 5 fouls forever. 

Maybe we just needed to play someone good.

Normally the refs change the way they call the game in the 2nd half.  Not tonight I guess 

We’ve been getting the short straw on officiating for the last 7 minutes 

Llew is getting his feet under himself. 

Best half of basketball this year. Hope they can keep it up.  

Minus the first couple of minutes this is the best 1/2 of Michigan basketball this year. If they play like this it might be a fun year after all. 

Game is easier when you make shots.

Great half for the good guys.  Good shooting and nice close to the half.

Well, so far this looks a lot more like what we were hoping to see. 

Good first 20. 20 more to validate. 

Well…kind of thought we would be down 20 at this point.  Glad to be wrong so far.  Still a long way to go.  Virginia is automatic when they’re in the paint.  

Well that 1st half was pleasantly surprising.  LFG!

Someone, or something, lit a fire under JLlew. If this is the new baseline for his play than dare I say, we can make some noise. 

Need this win for the tourney resume because I think this team is just gonna be hot and cold all year

Very classy of Juwan and Michigan to honor the three Virginia football players tonight. Those warmups were a class move.

Dickinson's foul choices leave something to be desired

The off ball defense and ball watching is a bad habit that Jett and Kobe need to kick very soon

Ugh!!!!!!!!  As soon as Virginia gets in the paint, I feel sick.  They can’t miss.  

Also, can Hunter please come set one of his devastating screens on Clark in the backcourt?

Offense is stagnant. Williams hit a 3, but is not really doing much to help. He's slowing things down

Absolute great start to the second half. Chucking 3’s, Hunter barely touching the ball in the paint and next to no defensive intensity. 

Gotta weather this storm. Every offense possession has to go through Dickinson. 

They can’t miss.  We can’t defend.  Bad combo.

VA has turned up their intensity. We need to do the same.

I know this team is bad on defense, but it feels like teams even make the super tough and contested looks as well. 

Sigh. Bad start to the 2nd half.
