Michigan adds extra practice time to ensure we are prepared to beat........Georgia?

Not sure how I feel about this.  On one hand I'm glad they are willing to put a stake in the ground and call the National Championship their ultimate goal.  On the other hand anything that potentially takes away practice time (and the dedication to) beating OSU I'm against.

I hope it's after the Beat ECU, Beat UNLV, Beat Bowling Green, Beat Rutger, Beat Nebby, Minny, Indy, Sparty, Purdue, Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State and USC periods.

Actually, scratch that, sounds like way too much practice.

One period:  BEAT EVERYBODY.  And Fire Bakich.

This sounds more like a "Defending National Champion Team" drill then a Georgia drill.  Motivational drill to show the ultimate goal is a National Title.

If it's actually a gameplan exercise and not a motivational idea, we're definitely putting the cart before the horse. They're an amazing program but nobody in the AP era has won 3 in a row. Would make just as much sense putting in a Beat Bama or LSU session.

Seems a bit cart before the horse, but there are still a ton of guys on this roster who got their butts whipped by Georgia a year and a half ago. So this isn’t like MSU dedicating time for a “Beat Georgia” practice.

As long as it’s not taking away from their primary goals, then I guess it’s alright. Beating OSU should always be the goal and the standard for Michigan.

I read the title and thought the NCAA is going to be pissed. First stretching, then cheeseburgers, now this? Will anyone think of the children?

See I dont mind that at all.  Its the fact they're preparing for a team that smoked the team that Michigan should have beat.  If they can beat whoever they play in the semi-final game they then hell yeah prepare for UGA as much as possible.

Now, I do think this year is different with the amount of experience coming back on offense so they should be in the NC game IMO, but anything can happen during the season though.

As others have said, it's certainly putting the cart before the horse.  But I still like it.  Georgia is the king of college football right now, and Harbaugh wants Michigan to be the king.  You have to dethrone the king to be the king.

I heard there is a special drill for MSU as well.  It consists of wind sprints into the tunnel and getting into the locker room as fast as you can.

I'm not in that locker room or on the team but that seems a bit like putting the horse before the buggy.  Has anybody on this thread said that yet? Preparing for osu has worked out great but preparing for a team they might not play?  Beating osucks should be top priority IMO but how about prepare for a team like TCU first?  We've seen what happens when they assume theyre going to play UGA.  After this season all of these top teams will have more room for error with 12 teams in the playoff but this doesnt seem like the way to go unless M wants a bigger target on their backs.
