If you think about it, it's really quite incredible that a decision with so much commercial relevance but involving several public institutions (and thus ultimately public money) is made by an unaccountable group behind closed doors. There should be an investigation into their practices because they don't make any sense and seem shady.

PricewaterhouseCoopers van just seen leaving the selection committee meeting.

This is the only logical explanation as to why Wisconsin is 3 seeds lower than Minney after finishing ahead of them in the regular season AND BTT. They must have switched the envelopes. I just can't get my head around this....

Was at the games all week (incl today).  Just talked with a buddy who was outside the locker room when the team found iout it was a 7 seed.  Shock and disbelief.  Use it as fuel fellas.

You woulda' thought the Tournament win meant something, but starting as a 9 and moving only up to a 7 is a damn stupid way to keep a national story going, but nobody has ever accused the committee of being smart.

I wish I had the time to research it, but I wonder where a 24 win conf champ finishing the season hot with multiple wins over top teams has been seeded in the past. And how that compares to an average 19 win team fares in seeding without said wins or season finish.

Crappy seeding.  If a conference tournament win can get anyone into the NCAA tournament, why does it seem like ours gave us a one spot boost???!!!

Oh well.  Doesn't matter, our guys can beat anyone.  Unbelievable week for Beilein and the team.  Incredibly proud.

GO BLUE!!

I think the committee takes the location of the games into account way more than they let on. People were wondering why Duke was a 2, they are playing in South Carolina. SMU being only a 6 is ridiculous, but their game is in Oklahoma, fits nicely location wise . They wanted Michigan in the Midwest region, so they shoved us into the 7 seed there to be in Indy. Minnesota didn't deserve a 5 seed, but they had a game opening in Milwaukee, so they shoved them in. Anybody else want to jump on this Half Baked theory? Lol

but the joke is on him.  We will beat Louisville and Kansas anyway while his Sparties are home meeting with lawyers to see how they can avoid jail time.

Cincinnati and SMU (the other 2 teams playing in a late afternoon conference Championship game) were shown with records of 29-4.

Which were their records before the game began.

It is what it is --- the committee knocks off in mid-afternoon, the late conference Championship games don't matter.  CBS had the bracket and their graphics made up by 4 PM ET.

Michigan could have defeated Wisconsin by a score of 167-2, they were locked in as a #7 in Indianapolis againt Oklahoma State.

Hollis said the main reason Syracuse didn't get in is because they only had 2 true road wins.

Sparty only had 2 road wins and they are a 9 seed.

What a scumbag.

You undignified and deceitful piece of dog shit! Your such big pile of shit someone will need a snow shovel to remove you. You and your program are stinking up this great state. We can smell your stank all the way in A2.

God I hate MSU and Hollis!

just watching the tourney shows and still can't get over this.

They should have just squeaked in and instead they're a 9.

You can't tell me they don't play favorites in seeding this tournament.

Inside job, and don't give me this bullshit about leaving the fucking room.

Minny as a 5 no. State as a 9, no. Hollis must go. He had the stupidity to admit that tournament games mean nothing on Sunday so f*** him and get him off the committee.

Michigan vs. louisville is an easy sell.

As for State the NCAA wants to reward teams who play high level games in november so they act like a loss to a top 50 team is better than a win against a team outside of the top 100 regardless of circumstances.

If you can lose 14 games and still be a 9...the tourney is officially a joke. Secondarily also on top of that plus other things... the Big Ten is paying the price for arrogantly finishing its "championship" little more than 3 minutes and 4 seconds before the seeding...however fucked up the committee is (with or without Hollis), it's STUPID to put your conference out there at the last minute leaving them minimal time to get it right... cut a day off for teams who haven't earned the right to play in the conference tourney and finish it on Saturday...NOT THAT HARD!!!

That asshat shouldn't even have a job. His program is an embarassment.  There is not enough SpartanSwill to put out all the fires burning in East Lansing. It is a cesspool of crime and corruption.

I think it's big that we get an extra day to rest/prepare. Beilein is deadly when given time to prepare.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but I absolutely agree that Hollis negatively influenced our seed and competition, and obviously he impacted MSU's - at best, they should have had a play-in.
