MBB: UCF at Michigan, December 6th
As we are now less than two weeks from the 11/25 College Hoops start date, at least one game (besides the B1G/ACC challenge) has revealed in this year's cryptic MBB schedule (shout out to the forum at UMHoops for this one).

Go Blue.

It seems insane that they're having non-conference games given the current state of the world and the COVID-19 virus spread, but I guess we're at the "fuck it, I'm throwing it deep" stage of this year.

Im with you bronx. I am at the fuck it stage right now too. Working with kids in school everyday, they are sneezing on me, wiping their boogers on me, and coughing in my face. I am shocked I have not gotten the virus yet.

At this point, there has to be a huge amount of people, potentially millions, that did have the virus or do have the virus and are asymptomatic, with no idea.

I'd bet a huge sum of money on that. There are probably millions in the U.S. alone.

Same here. I travel all over the globe and have yet to get sick. It’s very odd

It’s not that odd if you understand statistics

Dunno man. I mean, Arkansas' governor is mandating masks at church services. Arkansas. I don't know if anyone can appreciate how unlikely of a thing that is to happen in a Bible Belt state.

I wonder if UCF is gonna out hit UM this time...?

Michigan is a basketball school now.
November 12th, 2020 at 5:44 PM ^
Yeah I probably wouldnt bring in a team from Florida as my first choice. Are the Northern Illinois Huskies just too tied up?
November 12th, 2020 at 5:54 PM ^
They're still bringing in a team from Wisconsin on Saturday. I'd think that would be more of a concern if we are going the route of criticizing the schedule and not playing games due to Covid.

No... Im pretty sure the football season is over. You can't convince me otherwise.

I assume Johnny Dawkins is still the HC at UCF? If so, does Aubrey Dawkins till have any eligibility left?!

I think he could have come back last year if he wanted too, but he ended up leaving early. I think he had to sit a year for transferring and then he blew out a knee and got another year but never used it.

I dont see the Bigten scheduling more than 5 or so non conference games. You could add more in conference games and that is easier to control with conference rules and safeguards. So far, both of our out of conference games are at home. Play around 20-22 conference games and add in a few directional schools and there you have a 25-27 or so game schedule.

I hope basketball season doesn't backfire like football season!
November 12th, 2020 at 6:09 PM ^
Well hopefully they will start closer to time and have some flexibility in there for makeup games.

Great! something to look forward to!

The season will probably be cancelled before or even after it starts. COVID is on the rampage and when Biden takes over for president there will be a 4 to 6 week lock down. I think we should just scrap the season before it begins.
November 12th, 2020 at 6:45 PM ^
Not including the game tonight but 313 FBS games have been played so far and only 40 have been canceled or rescheduled. 89% of the games have been played successfully. It seems to me that the programs are mostly doing things the way they are supposed to. If basketball has a similar model, or perhaps a better one, they should be fine.
Also, several conferences started later or the success rate would be higher.

Ivy League canceled. I hope the smart thing is done and season is moved to March or April. They start this and unfortunately it doesn’t get very far with where we at.

Gotta say, basketball with no fans will be WEIRD. I know it’s already happening with football, but basketball is going to be even weirder and feel just empty. It’s going to sound like listening to a pickup game at the YMCA. Just a ball bouncing and shoes screeching.

The NBA just did it. They just pipe in noise and you slowly forget it's actually quiet in there. The biggest change is the dump button guy gets way more action.
