So...offense is going to be stacked and defense has a lot of question marks?  That's how I felt going into 2022, so let's hope for the same kind of performance from our D.

Same performance?

They just have up 51 points!

If they're not substantially better, I'll be disappointed. They lose Mazi, Morris and Turner...3 big pieces, but none of them are irreplaceable.

Turner is actually the biggest loss of the 3 simply because it's the weakest spot of the 3.

Graham and Jenkins will be solid in the middle and you have Benny and Grant as the 3rd DL depending on what you need.

LB literally returns everyone except probably Mullings, and that's simply because he's playing RB. And it gets Hausmann, who could be the best of the entire unit AND Nikhai Hill-Green, who didn't play all year.

S doesn't lose anyone and Caden Kolesar is back (presumably), Berry and Saab are a year older + Dent.

NB is in great shape with Sainristil and now Kody Jones is a year older.

So it's literally CB. Johnson and Green and...who? Answer that question and we better be quite a bit better.

The defense gave up 37, not 51. Still, I don't know what Minter was thinking with some of the all-out blitzes. I don't think the D was put in the best position to succeed in the TCU game.

I totally agree with your point about CB. We really need (ed) one in the portal. At least one.....

Didn’t want to make a separate thread but Pete Thamel tweeted this. I don’t think he’s a Top 100 pick so hopefully he gets good advice and is back. Would be a big blow if he doesn’t return.

DL will be fine.

Even if Jenkins leaves.

Team had three freshman who made significant impacts and received plenty of PT.  With the typical freshman-sophomore jump, you're looking at three starters/members of the two-deep.

Plus, Benny, McGregor, Okie, Harrell...who all played a significant amount..  And the transfer whose name is escaping me and I don't feel like using the Google Machine to figure it out.  That's eight players for a two-deep on a four-man line.

Then, wild cards like Iwunnah, Rooks, and the other rising juniors.

Not an area about which to be concerned.
