Mason Parris Wins Hodge Trophy!
Mason Parris, Michigans dominant heavyweight wrestler this season, has won the Hodge Trophy (top college wrestler/equivalent of Heisman Trophy). Parris went 33-0 this season en route to Big Ten and National Championships. Great kid, Great student, even better wrestler!
Fantastic news… congratulations Mason. Go Blue!
Sounds like he has a great chance to go pro
Excellent! Very impressive, and well deserved achievement.
I was just going to post this but figured I’d check the board first.
Awesome news for a great Michigan athlete! This should be posted on the front page. Maybe even with some muppets to go with it. This is essentially the Heisman trophy for collegiate wrestlers.
I demand a front page post! (You don't want to get the wrestlers of the blog pissed off. Wresters tend to be a little psychotic.)
so much winning!
As football, basketball, and hockey (and include women's sports) generally have the main press, we here know and appreciate our wrestling program. (not even a mention in the Freep).
This is a SIGNIFICANT accomplishment.
Mason Parris will forever be etched into Michigan Wrestling lore.
Congrats & Go Blue!
Disappointing, but not surprising, from the Freep. In any case, Congratulations Mason!!!!!!!!!
Great!
Congratulations, Mr. Parris!
Go Blue!
Nice. I'm guessing he can thank the Purdue kid who beat Lee for this award.
That is so cool! A lot of hard work, along with God given talent, went into this success.
Looks like six other wrestlers went undefeated this year in the NCAA, so it didn't just go to the guy with the best record. Though it looks like he had the most wins.
This is a big deal. Congratulations to Mason!

His short bio on MGoBlue says he's a Civil Engineering major. Smart dude.
Sounds like a great future teammate who does the ring run in to save Bron Breaker at a PPV in Columbus.
Would he like to try DT
Amazing accomplishment! If wresting had bad ass Muppets this would be worthy.
