Mark Hollis screws over everyone in the B1G but MSU.

Submitted by Maizen on

When does his committee term end because MSU's path to the final 4 over the last few years has been straight up unethical.

Yep. Hollis is a douche. He screwed over all the other B1G teams. GAWD. I hate that guy and I am sure Indiana, MD and Purdue feel the same way. MSU will be back in final four again. Virginia is their only challenge and I am not sure if they can stop MSU.

This is what Hollis does. He under seeds MSU but puts them in the easiest region in the tournament.

Remember the "region of death" he put Michigan in a few years ago? Wichita, UK, Louisville and Duke? Michigan was a #2 seed. Meanwhile MSU was seeed lower but put in a region with Nova, Virginia, and Cincy.

Last year Wisconsin had to go through Oregon, UNC, Arizona, and Kentucky just to get to play Duke. MSU you ask? Georgia, OU, Virginia, and a weak Louisville.

How more people are recognizing this trend is beyond me.

My sentiments exactly, MaizeHage. He's so devious he makes himself look innocent with the underseeding makes his fan base think they were jobbed (which they do even thought they weren't ). This just fires them up more because they go into disrespekt mode.

Last year MSU had to go through this:  2015 Virginia, Oklahoma, Louisville, Duke in a row...

I know that 's an easy bracket for most 7 seeds, so yeah, Hollis really helped them.  Especially because he can't be in the room when they're discussing or seeding MSU.  But He does have all that power.

The final four before that one?  2009. MSU had to go through: 2009 Kansas, Louisville, Uconn and UNC in row...

I know, that's an easy draw also.   We were very fortunate.

This year, I like MSU's draw.  It does seem favorable.  I think someone said it, but I"d take a 2 seed in the midwest over a 1 seed out west.  But some of you guys are looking for way too many black helicopters.

Now, that punt?  Hollis called Delany, told him to get in the had phones of Harbaugh, tol Harbaugh to send 3 gunners down against nobody, and then had only 6 blockers trying to block ten guys.  That was completely set up because Delany and Hollis who I personally saw doing shots together at a tailgate before that game, and they were talking about "outs" if the game was close.  I think you have to concentrate more on that and less on committees.

1. We got in. Not a foregone conclusion, especially after Vanderbilt got in. 2. We are playing what has to be the worst of the last 4 in, Tulsa. You could argue that we should have gotten Syracuse's spot, but I think it should have gone to Wichita State. 3. If we advance, we have a winnable game against what I think is the worst 6 seed. Going through all the bubble teams, Notre Dame was 3-6 against RPI 51-100 teams, including losing to Monmouth, Syracuse, and Pitt, along with 3 teams below bubble consideration. If we get to that game, we'll have a game under our belts and a winnable game against a similar style team. This is a great draw for Michigan.

How they made it in with their record is baffling.  Everyone is crapping on Michigan, but how Syracuse got in surprises me.  They lost four of five and last beat a ranked team in January (ND).  I hope we make enough of a run so all the doubters can realize they were wrong.

Umm guys....Hollis isn't the chair yet. Just so you know. I mean does no one remember how easy our path was in 14 before losing to UK.

when talking about resume, you should look at the kenpom ratings of the teams in that bracket.  It was murderous.  UK as an 8 seed despite having by far the best talent in the bball and a top 20 kenpom, going into the tourney.  Tennessee was the 11th (!!!) rated kenpom team going into despite being an 11 seed, so their run was not only not surprising, but it led to us playing as difficult of a team as a two seed could be expected to play in the sweet 16.  Add in Louisville, and whomever was the 3 and 4 seeds in that bracket and it was absolutely the bracket of death.  Yes, with Lou and UK in the other side, we didn't have the face the absolute toughest part of it until the elite game, but that's what we deserved as a 2 seed.

There's a rumor that after this year things we be realigned in B1G football and state will play in Ann Arbor two years in a row. That rumor was started by me just now. But seriously , Hollis needs to go.

They do seem to get an easy draw. And of you check the RCMB they say he should resign in protest haha. Newsflash Spartans, it really doesn't make a difference whether youre a 1 or 2 seed.

Why the NCAA allows Division I athletic directors to sit on the Division I selection committee is something I've never understood.  Not only does it seem like an obvious conflict of interest, most of them don't even have a background in basketball to justify it.

I'm just surprised we made it in with his influence, I was half expecting to be assigned a "play in game" on a aircraft carrier and then have to listen to people on TV claim he is a genius for proposing something so cutting edge and revolutionary. The quick trip to Dayton is quite a bit easier.

Hollis has been very good for State.  I'd hope for the same if our AD was in there.  Flipping to the haterade side of things, apparently its time to resurrect the the:

Doug Gottlieb... Michigan hating dochebag

thread from a few years back as well.

Seriously man?  If by "around the country" you are referring only to Michigan fans even that might not be accurate.  MSU should be a 1 seed, so being a 2 seed in the same region as the the lowest 1 seed is still a raw deal since an argument can be made that they should be the 2nd overall seed and could be in the same region as 2 seeded Xavier or Oklahoma, both of whom are worse than Virginia.

This whole "Hollis screwing over Michigan while helping MSU" argument is exactly why other fan bases view Michigan's as arrogant pricks.  You honestly think there is some committee conspiracy going on where they are blatantly trying to screw over Michigan and other Big Ten teams while also doing their best to help MSU?  Take off your tinfoil hat and get a hold of reality.  Who gives a shit about how "easy" one region is to another?  Just beat the team you're slotted against.  Plenty of teams get screwed over or are given "an easy path" every year, so stop bitching about something you and everyone else on here has zero control over.  Grow a sack, man up, and quit being a whiny bitch because frankly, it's beneath the Michigan fan base.

The committee has to pick 34 at-large teams and then seed and slot 68 different teams in different areas of the country.  I, by no means think they did a great job, but I and the committee will never be perfect.  If you believe that Hollis has that much control, then how did we even get into the tournament?

For the same reasons that we were all joking 11W and RCMB about how much they talked about Harbaugh/Signing of the Stars and how much the SEC was doing to prevent the IMG spring practices, we are doing the same thing here.

I'm proud of the way the team hung with Indiana and ultimately secured a spot in the Big Dance.  I'd much rather spend the next couple of days talking about how if we can get a couple more shots to fall, we could win a few games and maybe make it to the second weekend and surprise even the fans on this board
