Strong FSU and Miami kicks Bama and the sec out of the sunshine state recruiting wise!  Riley to SC is a huge deal because it will prevent Bama in large part of just picking a few 5 stars from California when he wants.  They rattled off the big time players leaving California and have to think Riley knows he can lock down talent he will be loaded.

But that’s another huge job open, Oregon now…. Hmm who goes there.

Interesting year, 3 well known coaches leaving their schools for jobs at places that are roughly equivalent and not a clear step up the ladder.  Money talking?

The only way in which Miami is easier is that you're now in the talent rich state you poach from (Oregon typically gobbles up Cali kids) and your biggest competition is Clemson, who appears to be coming down from the mountain top, competitively speaking.

And USC is about to be a mega player again under Riley so he may also be avoiding getting stomped on by them every year.  Oregon is definitely gonna be a big loser from this year's carousel

Money may have been a factor but there was likely more to it for each of these.

Brian Kelly didn't have a great relationship with the ND administration and portions of its fanbase and had been sniffing around for NFL jobs for a few years now.  LSU isn't a pro job but it may offer him slightly better talent and he won't be judged on his religiosity.

Lincoln Riley was not in favor of Oklahoma joining the SEC.  Now he'll coach a school in the Pac-12, located in a gold mine of football talent.

For Cristobal it's simple: he is from Miami.

There was a major administrative snafu in my organization.  In a purge of obsolete user names from ALL systems they included names of anyone that was given a new title or was promoted.  I spent days dancing delicately around the issue calling/emailing people to determine if they were or were not still with us.  It happens.

There is absolutely an opportunity for a dominant team in Florida program to emerge.

All that fertile recruiting ground that made UF, Miami, and FSU good to great at the same time during the 90's and early 2000's still exists - they've all just been scooped up by UGA, BAMA, LSU, and OSU over the past 5-7 years.

Whichever school in the state of Florida gets its act together first (it looked like it was going to be UF, but now they are in flux) can very quickly become an elite program.  With Miami playing in the weak ACC instead of the SEC, they can be poised to go on an elite run.

USC and Miami are the huge winners this coaching carousel, and both can become elite very quickly - and hopefully stop losing recruits to OSU!

That said, Miami has some structural and facility problems, including a stadium 15 miles off campus, which need be addressed.

Absolutely this. I think it's insane that all three of the big Florida programs are down at the same time given the number of big time recruits in that state. If just one of Miami, FSU, or Florida could break through it would really alter the CFB landscape since so many of the elite programs are built off Florida talent.

Oregon's held up remarkably well over the last decade given how much coaching instability they've had. Whoever they hire will be their fifth head coach since 2009, and yet they've had just a couple of down seasons over that time.  Phil Knight's money and wearing different uniforms every week apparently make a difference.

Cristobal is a fantastic recruiter. In-game coach? ehhh. Will be intriguing to see who Oregon goes to. both Oregon and UW have vacancies. That's insane.

Makes perfect sense.

With Brett Venables likely heading to Oklahoma, Mario has an opportunity to build a resurgant Miami program that can compete against a weaker Clemson team.

There was a lot of smoke here with Moorehead leaving and the way Oregon collapsed at the end of the season.  It seems like the focus wavered as the coaches were looking for other jobs.
