Nice, clean look -- go down and TCB!
October 7th, 2022 at 6:18 PM ^
The white on white is the “cleanest “ look in my opinion. But I don’t hate the maize pants.
October 7th, 2022 at 11:44 PM ^
I always wanted yellow or white pants ... with a strong blue stripe down the side.
But ... I've also found myself quite impressed by the white top and blue pants -- the combination they wore last week.
October 7th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
I'm a big fan of the maize pants for away games. Also really like the white accessories.
I would be happy if this would just be the permanent road game uniform
October 7th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
I love this look, but I'm all about variety, so I love the blue or white pants paired with the white jersey as well. Many looks--all clean.
October 7th, 2022 at 3:36 PM ^
The choice between blue or maize pants is a nice way to avoid matching an opponent's colors, e.g. blue last week against an Iowa team with lots of yellow or maize when we play at Penn St.
The maize should absolutely be the default in cases like this week where there's no color conflict.
October 7th, 2022 at 1:55 PM ^
No real argument from me. It's also traditional, but the youngsters like to have variety these days.😉
October 7th, 2022 at 3:51 PM ^
Blue 👖 are great too.
Case by case for contrast with the home team.
We don't do UNIFORMZ, so changing pant colors is a tasteful way of giving some variety.
October 7th, 2022 at 4:45 PM ^
As a 13-18 year-old fan of M, I always wanted us to be more adventurous on the uniform front (como Oregon, even o state, etc.) and then the adidas sponsorship butchered so many variations (apart from the UTL #1 striped unis and the matte blue helmets against South Carolina — though Vincent Smith’s certainly popped), now in my early 30s I just want variations on pants. For both the M football team and my life in general.

Nice Ann Arbor reference. I love Iggy’s song “I’m Bored”.

Trading Places is THEEEEE best film of all time! "Who put there coals out on my rug, haven't you people heard of ashtrays."....

Best line ever:
Cuz I'm a karate man, alright? Karate men bruise on the inside, so they don't show their weaknesses. But you don't know that because you're a big Barry White looking motherfucker.

Will this be a pro Michigan crowd? Have to imagine many IU fans sold their tickets after the start to their year.
October 7th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
Doubt it. They're still 3-2 and have a shot at taking down a top 5 team. Reported attendance for the first 3 home games (per espn) was around 44k, 47k, 49k, with a capacity of 55k. That last game against Western Kentucky was a near-sellout.
That said, I'm sure you can still find plenty of tickets. There will be a strong and vocal Michigan contingent, but it won't be a pro-Michigan crowd (which I interpret as majority Michigan).
October 7th, 2022 at 1:47 PM ^
It's okay if the crowd is majority Indiana in the 1st quarter.
But here's to a game where the crowd is majority Michigan in the 4th quarter
October 7th, 2022 at 3:56 PM ^
It was beautiful to hear, "Let's Go Blue!" loud and clear through my TV during the 4th quarter of the Iowa game.
October 7th, 2022 at 8:53 PM ^
But here's to a game where the crowd is majority Michigan in the 4th quarter . . . in Columbus.
October 7th, 2022 at 1:41 PM ^
It's homecoming so I assume more IU folks will be at the game.
October 7th, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
I've never had a problem getting tickets direct from the school. Can get kid tickets for $10 I think. We'll be there tomorrow God willing and the creek don't rise.
October 7th, 2022 at 2:58 PM ^
It’s Bloomington (my hometown); it’s not as though there is a lot else going on on a fall Saturday.
October 7th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
It is the traditional look. I do like the blue pants both home and away since it makes the maize in the helmets stand out.
October 7th, 2022 at 12:52 PM ^
Love the maize pants. Classic look.
October 7th, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
Since I am not WD, do we often vary the accessories, gloves, and socks within the confines of our usual white+maize road uniforms?
October 7th, 2022 at 1:00 PM ^
By the way can we bring back WD? The blog is more fun when we can react to his memorabilia collections, hardo comments and insane dedication to water polo and field hockey. I will donate the entirety of my piddly ass mgopoints to sweeten the pot for a return. Who’s with me?
October 7th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
I don't think that will be happening. WD went full scorched earth after his dismissal. I don't think those fences are capable of being mended.
October 7th, 2022 at 8:53 PM ^
What did he do?
October 7th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
Nice try, WD
October 7th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
I would love to have WD back. Afterall, he played a huge part in getting David Brandon fired. That has to count for something
October 7th, 2022 at 1:52 PM ^
It counted for a ton. That was the problem.
After the DB thing, WD thought he was mGoBlog and acted like a complete... you get the idea.
Just think about how off-putting you'd have to be to use up ALL the goodwill from getting DB fired, and that's exactly how off-putting WD was.
October 7th, 2022 at 8:54 PM ^
Well it's been a long time.
Let's call it even, reboot, and start again.

For a period after Carr, it was kind of the wild west in terms of accessories. There was a time during the RR era where the team did not even have matching away jerseys and the piping/striping was different on some than others. During this time, and even stretching most of Hoke's tenure, accessories were all manner of different colors, some wore white socks, some black, some basically ankle socks. It was a mess.
Harbaugh came in and at least got everybody on the same page, and while pretty plain, all of the players at least matched. Now they are starting to get creative and allow some leeway with different looks and colors.
This level of coordination is where a lot of other teams were at like 10 years ago.
October 7th, 2022 at 2:18 PM ^
I saw someone tweet about the gloves once. It is advantageous for certain players to have glove colors that are similar to the opposing team. I guess it helps hide tugging on jerseys.
October 7th, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
Looking ahead to uniforms for next week - Michigan is going to have a maize out and many are thinking that we’ll be going all maize for the occasion as PSU didn’t let Michigan do that last year. Anybody think that Michigan may do maize jerseys with blue pants for the first time then? A lot of recruits have posted pictures in that combo and I think it looks pretty good. If they don’t do that, I hope they go all blue over all maize. All blue with maize out looks amazing
October 7th, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
Maize jerseys and blue pants are too WVU to me.
I'm good with the other combos so far to date. Try not to be an "old man yells at clouds" guy, but I do have a limit.
October 7th, 2022 at 1:07 PM ^
The all Maize look is terrible! They wore that in the JerryDome against Floriduh, when Speight started off 2017 in a bad way (even if it was a win). Did not like the all-maize look...
October 7th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
Seconded on not wanting all maize. That's too WVU/Baylor/Oregon to me (and looked pretty blech when they rolled them out against UF in 2017). The all blue look with a night maize out is phenomenal; it's too bad this maize out is a nooner.
October 7th, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
I wasn't thrilled with the all-maize look, either, but it's not clear to me why another school's unis would matter here.
Any school (like ours) with yellow / maize is going to have a big difference between home unis (like ours, which I think are the best) and road unis. White and yellow don't look good together.
