Not only does he seem to be in the doghouse, but he has built an addition to it. Not good.

It doesn't have to be either of what you listed. He has expierence and teams are always looking to fill holes or add depth. It wouldn't be a huge shock if he had multiple transfer options.

Schools (and Pro teams) have had some success rehabilitating ex-UM RBs...so why not take a shot?

of our computers, desks, etc.--we feel, as fans, onlookers, and (at least in my case) mere mortals, at least in football--a need to speak disdainfully of kids who work so hard. What's up with that? There's always so much involved, for all of us, in "succeeding" or "failing" in whatever we do--what's the call to denigrate? Does it really puff us up that much to say that some guy sucked, blew, etc. I've been watching this phenomenon from the Henne period on--that guy absorbed so much abuse from idiot fans whose near-sightedness was so extreme that they couldn't see he was freaking great, by almost any college standard. Apart from just coming to see it as incredibly lacking in awareness or consciousness on the part of the posters, I'm not really getting any closer to understanding it.

Yes.
It's no different from the obnoxious drunk in a neighborhood bar in 1955 loudly telling everybody unfortunate enough to be within earshot that the third baseman or right tackle or point guard or defenseman on his favorite team stunk.

with Grbac, and with Navarre. People are just mean.
I was in the stands once when Grbac was having a terrible game. At one point I looked back and saw his parents -- the looks on their faces I will never forget. Needless to say, I don't yell things about specific players anymore...

I hope that either the switch goes on for him on the football field with the superior coaching and culture now in place at UM or that he moves on to other opportunities... perhaps completing his education at UM and moving into his post-football career. This no-man's land where Ty Isaac and Derrick Green have (at different times) resided must be frustrating, disappointing, etc...
December 27th, 2015 at 4:15 PM ^
At this point I'd be shocked if its anything but 'moves on to other opportunities'....but certainly not at UM. There is no way a guy with the expectations he carries is going to fold it up and focus solely on his Education when he's healthy and still had eligibility left.

I'm not sure what's got your panties all in a bunch, but your conflating a certain level of empathy and understanding for a young man in order to pass personal judgement on "soft-ass society" makes it hard to take you seriously...

Its hard to believe that Green was higher ranked than Derrick Henry in HS. I certainly did not see it on his tape at the time. He seems like a good kid, but as a player, perhaps a transfer to a MAC level or FBS school would help him if he wants playing time.

I hope not. I have enjoyed the white on white all season. No need to switch it up now.

No, I think these have been their practice unis all year long.

wears different colors at practice with all in same color pants. Has been this way all year as they have never worn the white for practice.

Since it's a recruiting dead period, can they even talk to him if he comes to a practice? Exactly what would we be allowed to do if he shows up at a practice? Does anyone know?
December 27th, 2015 at 5:07 PM ^
They can't have any face to face contact with a recruit or a parent, unless there is some kind of special provision for bowl practices.
