Lions trade for Damon "Snacks" Harrison

Giving up a 5th round pick for Harrison, who is one of the best run-stopping interior linemen in football-Not everyday that the Lions come out on the bright side of a trade like this. Solid move for a team that actually looks formidable against tough opponents!

This would not be an ideal trade. It would take a first round pick and at that point, their defense would be built around 28 year old peterson, 29 year old Snacks, 27 year old Slay, 29 year old ansah, and 32 year old glover quin. All are good players, but it would really limit the ability to make moves in the free agent market and would kill our draft capital considering were already down 2 picks. To me it seems that Bob Quinn's strength is really building up depth and this would hurt that.

Please elaborate....run stuffing DL seems to fit most any scheme.

Its not like grabbing Danny Amendola and trying to give him Golden Tates route tree.

UPDATE: Nevermind - I feel like you are saying no adult should make this trade (ie the Giants GM) carry on

What this is telling me is that Quinn is connected, active, and will not rest until he can put together a roster that can compete for a ..........

Nah, still can't say it, too many DECADES of disappointment to get overly excited, but it certainly good to have a GM that appears to somewhat get it as to what it takes....

The NY sports media is absolutely crushing the Giants right now, first for the Eli Apple trade yesterday, then for this one today.

This doesn't apply to Harrison, but apparently only 3 of the last 10 Giants 1st round picks are still with the team.

I cannot believe that the Lions got Damon Harrison for a 5th round pick.  Harrison even has a reasonable contract going forward.

If this was a Fantasy Football trade, the Commissioner would void it and look into collusion...

Nice job, Lions.  Enjoy the wrath of those pleasant and upbeat New Yorkers, Giants management.

If this reduces the number of Ricky Jean Francois calls made by announcers during a typical Lions game, I'm pissed.   Audible Ricky Jean Francois + Jim Bob Cooter references make my ears so happy.
