These were the odds from yesterday:

Tonight, things are a little different. The good news: Corum's odds have closed in just slightly toward 1st from yesterdays. The bad news: UNC QB Drake Maye has coming flying into the scene, passing Corum slightly into 3rd, and pushing Corum down to 4th, now making it a four man race. It has to be noted, these numbers are from late Saturday night, and could change by Sunday night.

I was hoping for a bigger game for Blake Corum today. But I also understand the coaches wanting to pull him, save his body for the next games, and let a couple of the younger guys play. A fourth person in the mix makes to too much for me to want to do the mental math and get a handle on what Corum's chances of winning it are. I'm just going to watch, and hope for the best.

p.s.,

Just wanted to add this. A nice scene with Blake Corum in the tunnel after the game. It helps to wash away the bad memory of another scene in the tunnel.

Dude, last season I played football was 1989 and I have a better chance of winning the Heisman than a UNC player.

Would be nice if the award went to the best player. Period. Not sure who that is but it isn’t Stroud. Level of difficulty alone says Hooker should be comfortably ahead of him.

P.S. What a beautiful moment.  Nice to see a picture of what ABC was talking about yesterday.  So glad Blake Corum is a Michigan Wolverine.  God bless Larry Prout Jr. and Blake.

I'd never heard of Maye either, so I looked him up. He's a redshirt freshman who's piled up a lot of yardage and TDs. He's attempting 10 more passes per game than JJ, but completing them at essentially the same rate as JJ (71.2% vs 70.9%).

Overall, NC's offense is pretty evenly distributed between run and pass, as opposed to Michigan's run-centric offense.

The most notable statistic to me is in defense: NC has given up 313 points in 10 games, while Michigan has given up 112.

The fact that Maye is now among the leaders in the Heisman race emphasizes how it's essentially an award for QBs (or to a lesser extent RBs) who can pile up gaudy stats on winning teams.

You get  more avenues of piling up stats as a QB.  Blake would have higher chances if he also had KR/PR duties and we used him like Bush. I don't advocate for this because it's too risky to get Corum hurt.  He already carries the offensive load for the team. It's why Woodson is still the last defensive player to ever win it.  He had multi-faceted duties and his efforts led us to a NC.  The stars aligned for Woodson to be able to win and the fact he did it over Manning makes it all the more special and not likely soon to be repeated.
