Late NBA thread: Green still a mega pos

Submitted by TeslaRedVictorBlue on April 18th, 2023 at 12:28 AM

The Kings/Warriors series has been really good so far.

Green stood on a player's chest just now and keeps whooping it up. Such a bitch. Yes, his leg was grabbed a bit. But he stood on the guy's chest.

As a Celtics fan who saw this first hand in the finals last year, good riddance to that punk.

76ers and Celtics appear on a collision course. Lakers going to likely win that series if ja is out for good.

I expect Giannis will recover soon enough and the bucks will be fine

Wide open field this year!

I certainly hope the godawful Tom Gores / Troy Weaver leadership team does not offer him a free agent contract this summer.

I’m by no means a Dremond Green fan.

That said, I’m still surprised I was seeing the same thing y’all were seeing.  That dude WWF’d his motherf’ng foot in a half Nelson and dreymond jumps to get out of it and lands on the idiot. DG even bounced away at the end to clear out.  Literally he’s the one with the T??

absolute embarrassment for the league that they just place a tiny slap for a full on wrestling move and punish the escaping player 2.5x more.

Sabonis is certainly not blameless here, the leg grab (and the acting afterwards) was not necessary and deserved a tech. That said, Draymond did not have to do the double tap. The fact that he was also leaning into it during the review and antagonizing the crowd throughout was really obnoxious and put it over the top for me. Furthermore, he was clearly not remorseful about it post-game, selfish when he very likely could have been the difference maker for GS in what was a very close game. NBA has to stop letting him get away with this type of stuff (single game ejection is not enough), considering the non-punishment (paid vacation) he got after sucker-punching JP earlier this year. Of course, I can't be objective, as Draymond is very, very high up on my most detested Sharty-athletes list, so take it for what you will!

Sabonis actions were just out of line as Green's. Both should be suspended for a game. Sabonis grabbed at Green's legs to jerk at his ankles while he tried to run and Green retaliated by stepping on him. Both are insanely dirty players. But as a former hooper... that entire play disgusted me. Both sides.

I love all the armchair criticism of how green didn’t respond properly. (Mutually exclusive to him being a turd)

Like Shaq said after the game to chuck. You wanna let me grab your leg and see how graceful you get up?  I guarantee even in a non heated environment- 94.2% of you don’t get up gracefully.

bonkers.

This stomp calls for Hockey style retribution. Bring in a goon and punch Green right in the face at the opening tip of the next game.

His leg was grabbed first, which is a foul.   He followed it with a stomp, which is a technical.   What I saw was a rather vicious stomp.

While I'm absolutely not a fan of Green, the refs gave the game to Sacramento by their calls in the situation.  When a player willfully holds onto the leg of an opponent, that's a foul which could have caused injury and certainly provokes fights.  The refs should have given both players the same level of punishment, either both Tech 1 or both Tech 2.  While Green deserved punishment, his team didn't deserve unequal treatment compared with Sacramento.

Suspended for game 3. The Ws are really going to miss his typical 8 pts, 7 boards, 5 assists, and 6 turnovers
