This is good.  Kwity Paye is jacked.  Watch out for Barrett and Haskins next year.  Tweeners that should produce a ton.  I know you all don’t wanna hear it but I think Khaleke moving on will be good.  I see Barrett with a similar quasi-linebacker/halfback background, but more disciplined.  Less mistakes at Viper.  Haskins will be half of the double edged sword that is our running game.  I think McGrone and Barrett with Kwity, Aidan and Hill should be exceptional.  The more I look, the better I feel.

Not counting on it but if that happens that would be a huge boost to the offense and the team's prospects in general.

Not good enough prospects to beat OSU, but good enough to where they can definitely beat everyone else on their schedule. Wisconsin (minus Jonathan Taylor) and PSU are at home, MSU is imploding, catching Washington as they lose their coach and QB and will be adjusting to that, get a pesky Purdue team at home, and I guess we'll see how Minnesota is now that they've lost their OC.

Don't drop more than one of those games, and NY6 (and possibly the Rose Bowl) are very much in the cards for next year's team.

I see Barrett with a similar quasi-linebacker/halfback background, but more disciplined.

What evidence do you have that he will be more disciplined? Hudson seemed extremely disciplined early in his career and the cracks in his game only started to show when Brown piled a lot of extra responsibilities on his plate. In typical Don Brown fashion, many of those assignments were gambits and when they failed to pay off Hudson looked bad as a result. The only time I remember Hudson really looking bad was against OSU and unfortunately they made our whole defense look bad.

I just don't think there's enough data on Barrett to assume how he will turn out.

I think our d line will have plenty of size. Dwumfour and Kemp will be around 285-290. Hutchinson and Paye will be around 280. Mazi, Hinton and Jeter will be 300+. That's not including anyone else coming in on the line. I think we will also see a few new pash rushers play. Excited to see Mcgrone and Ross on the field together. The safety spot should be electric. 2 corner spots are good, worried a little after that.

I'm a little worried too but I do have a gut feeling that you're going to see a lot of young guys that we haven't seen yet particularly some of the freshmen come in like they did a few years ago and really contribute maybe even take a lot of playing time up from some of the older guys as the season progresses... I'm still concerned that were looking at a 9 or 10 win season and that first game won't be easy at Washington. Hopefully this offense can really take off quickly next year and use our playmakers like we haven't seen in quite a few years! On paper we've actually got a lot of potential more than anybody in the conference outside of Ohio State... But again that's on paper and the quarterback situation needs to resolve itself and somebody's got to step up McCaffrey Milton somebody. Go blue!

If DPJ and Nico come back I'm not worried about Washington. They are losing a ton on offense. Yes, it's the first game of the year and a road game, but I think Michigan will have the upper hand with returning talent. I feel like we will be 11-0 heading into Columbus next year. Gotta navigate that Wisconsin, Penn St, @MSU, @Minny 4 game gauntlet though.

You go ahead and don't worry about a road game at Washington... I wasn't worried about Army either ? and let's face it Ohio state's pretty much a guaranteed loss until proven otherwise especially in Columbus. Our road struggles also will continue until proven otherwise and you said it brother there's a four-game gauntlet. Will we be 11 and 0 going into Columbus? Maybe! But there's nothing that's a guarantee and I'm not trying to be mean here just realistic our fan base needs to get that through our thick skulls...

I hope you're right, but usually guys that break out show flashes from the 2-deep the year before.  It's unusual a guy buried on the depth chart one year breaks out the following year.  Dax Hill, Cam McGrone, maybe even Hinton may break out.  But, I'd be surprised if anyone not on the 2-deep last year breaks out.  My guess is they get their feet in 2020.  But, they are also going to have to beat out Vilain & McGregor to do so.

A defensive line with a returning Kwity Paye, Aiden Hutchison, Mike Dwumfour, Carlo Kemp (maybe?), and beefed up & ready-to-go Mazi and Hinton, plus a planetoid Defensive Tackle off the portal, and we just might have something there.  Linebacker is in good hands with McGrone, Ross and the new Viper (be it Barrett or someone else).  The secondary is probably the scariest position on defense, having to replace Metellus and Lavert Hill.  I'm glad Dax got a lot of run this year because he'll have to be a force back there for a bit.  I assume Hawkins gets the other safety spot and then Vincent Gray steps in at the other corner spot.

Glad to have him back, although I never thought he'd be gone.  We should have another strong team back next year.  With Wiscy & PSU at home I like our chances in every game but one.
