i thought it was know thine enemy
These players were not seen either on the field or on the sidelines during the annual intrasquad scrimmage: Drew Beesley, Josh Butler, Demetrius Cooper, Donnie Corley, Felton Davis, Messiah deWeaver, Josh King, Kenney Lyke, LJ Scott, Kyonta Stallworth, Tyson Smith, Brandon Sowards, Demetric Vance, Jalen Watts-Jackson, and Khari Willis.
Every spring game has a bunch of guys held out for precaution or injury. I think there is more focus this year because of the sexual assault investigaion. Jalen Watts-Jackson is recovering from a pretty serious injury. Felton Davis has been out with an injury this spring. Demetrius Cooper was arrested for misdemeanor assualt and battery of a parking officer.
Some of those other names have been rumored to be part of the sexual assault investigation for several months now.
I know right. I said the same thing the other day. If you're a parent of a prospective recruit, Mork isn't exactly showing how he's going to protect your son...
A bunch of kids that have nothing to do with this sexual assault investigation are about to become part of the speculation until any charges are filed.
Everyone already knows who the three are anyways and the list confirms. It does seem like a hell a lot of others though unless they're purposefully not having some guys dress to protect their three.
My guess is the average fan has no idea who is involved. The students on campus probably know so that makes a difference.
Which 3 of the 5 below?
Corley, Vance, King, Scott, Lyte
All of these five were not at the scrimmage.
The players have been suspended and removed from campus housing. These names are going to get out eventually, and they are going to be tied to this investigation. There is no stopping that. If there are no charges filed, their names would be linked to being cleared there as well. And even if there are no criminal charges, there is still the possibility of a Title IX hearing or a civil suit.
There is no law that prevents the football team from saying they have been suspended from football activities for "violation of team rules." Other schools do this all the time in similar situations. Not sure why MSU is somehow unique here. And by avoiding releasing the names of the suspended players, they have turned this story into a media frenzy defeating the purpose of witholding the names in the first place.
It'll be funny if this turns out to be a circus and it will be their own fault.
....you mean after rutgers and illinois.
This game can keep you young when things are going your way. Hell, even when your're successful and there's no stress as to keeping your job, it'll keep you energetic far longer than your peers, see Jack H. However, with what he had built, and I imagine it to be his goal again - he sure in hell is not going to make a lesser program his goal - he, as you say, won't manage to sustain the pace, and he did have some heatlh issues. If I were him, I think I'd try to get as good a staff together as I could, a great OC, DC and endorse wisely his successor. He's pulled some shit there to be sure, but if he leaves with the past decade as his legacy, he'll be looked back at like Duffy forever. If he tries to do it again, and he has to fail given the changing landscape, he won't be remembered kindly.
His arm strength is unmatched. Can throw a pigskin a quarter mile.
Coach needs to put him in in the 4th quarter. He could be a future pro.
With and without ankle monitors?
Catholics vs Convicts
Jackson looks great early. Lewerke looks pretty good. The OL and DBs don't look that great but again it's hard to tell in an intrasquad scrimmage.
